Scholarships will be awarded preferably to:
New AP Italian teachers;
Teachers that will teach AP Italian during the academic year 2013-14;
Teachers who have not had a previous AP professional development experience;
Teachers who have not received prior scholarships or awards from the College Board to attend a College
Board endorsed professional development event;
Teachers that teach in a school (in the U.S.) with one or more of the following:
o 50 percent or more students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals
o 50 percent or more traditionally underrepresented minority students (African American,
Hispanic, and/or Native American)
The scholarships will cover the following conference-related costs:
APSI Tuition
Accommodations in Rome for 6 nights (Room fee only)
Breakfast and lunch for the 5 days of the workshop
Workshop materials
An afternoon tour in the city of Rome
The scholarship will not cover:
Travel expenses (including any flight-related costs)
Dinner(s)
City transit
Incidentals
