20Alert April 14 2017 - Antelope Trails Elementary

20Alert – April 14, 2017
Antelope Trails Community,
Parents!
Please be mindful of your speed on Copperfield Drive! There is a lot of activity and traffic at drop-off and pick-up times
and we are concerned about the SAFETY of our families and community. Also, please remember that there is NO LEFT
TURN out of the kiss ‘n go area - You must make a right hand turn on to Copperfield Drive and follow the road down to
Jessie Drive. Thank you for your cooperation!

Just a Heads-Up about Literacy Testing - May 4th & 5th
Our testing days will look slightly different then in the past. The students will only be at school for one 1 1/2 hour
session. Below is the schedule, organized by last name, which we will follow. Please understand that if a teacher has
too many student in one session, you may be asked to switch to a less crowded time. This is to ensure that all students
can be properly tested on these days. These days are provided for us to complete our testing and protect instructional
time. Please note that busses will not run on these days, so parents will need to make transportation arrangements to
and from school at their designated testing time.
Our spring testing days this year will be on Thursday, May 4th and Friday, May 5th . Please note that your child will only
be at school during their scheduled testing time on those days. Adventure Club students will also attend class at the
scheduled time and students will be staying in their classrooms.
Students will be tested according to the first letter of their last name.

PTO NEWS
Thank you to Everyone Who Supported Our Dance & Silent Auction!
We’d love to thank all our wonderful volunteers, businesses, teachers and parents who helped make our 2nd annual
Spring Dance a HUGE success! We couldn’t have put on this event for our children without your help. Thanks to local
businesses and individuals who donated valuable items, everyone who bid on the items, and the parents who donated
basket raffle items, we raised thousands of dollars to support our school and children! We appreciate everyone’s
support and hope you all had a wonderful time.
Next PTO Meeting
Our next PTO meeting is on Tuesday, April 25th at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria. ALL PARENTS are members of the ATE PTO
and we invite you to attend and get involved! It’s a great way to “be in the know” about what’s going on at your
children’s school and have input on where money raised by the PTO goes! In this next meeting, we’re looking for parents
to join the Board and help our team. We have several open positions and different ways you can help. Hope to see you
at the meeting and remember, childcare is provided for at no cost.
Scrapbooking Supplies Wanted
If you have any extra scrapbooking supplies (markers/stickers/paper, anything "teacher" like) the PTO would love to
have them! The first week in May, we will have an Appreciation Station for students to make cards for their teachers for
Teacher Appreciation Week. We would appreciate any donations to help support this effort. You can send them in with
your child with a note to the PTO. We will take items until Monday, April 24th.
Stay in the know, with the PTO:
