Professional Experience

Resident at Nashville Public Library’s (NPL) Special Collections division. In conjunction
with library staff will create public programs that either draw attention to the Special
Collection division’s collections, or utilize its materials in the construction of
programming. September 2014-May 2015.

Graduate Assistant at the Center for Popular Music (CPM) at Middle Tennessee State
University. Responsible for processing the Joel S. Herron Collection. August 2013-May
2014.

Archivist for Tennessee Aviation Hall of Fame Archives at Middle Tennessee State
University. Responsible for organizing current collections as well as appraising and
describing newly acquired materials. Also created draft of archives mission statement and
acquisitions policy. June 2013-May 2014.

Temporary, grant funded processing archivist at the Albert Gore Research Center, located
on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University. Processed the Raul Regallado
collection at the Tennessee Aviation Hall of Fame Archives, housed on the campus of
Middle Tennessee State University. May-June, 2013.


Graduate Teaching Assistant at Middle Tennessee State University, August, 2010 –
August 2013
From 2010 to 2012 I assisted a digital history film class in which undergraduate students
created their own history documentary. Responsibilities included managing equipment
for the class, providing advice on student projects, and assisting students in their research.
During fall 2011, in addition to working with the film class, I also assisted two History
3010 classes; courses designed to teach undergraduates the basics of history research
methods and citation. During the 2012 fall semester I was a teaching assistant in an
American History class that primarily studied the period of time between Reconstruction
and World War II. I taught two Friday discussion classes, administered and graded tests,
and held office hours. In August 2013 I became a graduate assistant at the Center for
Popular Music at Middle Tennessee State University. There I primarily processed
collections and catalogued orchestrations.

Temporary, grant funded processing archivist at the Albert Gore Research Center, located
on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University. Processed the Ninety-Nines, Inc.,
International Organization of Women Pilots collection at the Tennessee Aviation Hall of
Fame Archives, housed on the MTSU campus. June, 2012.

Seasonal Temporary Staff Member at the Rutherford County, Tennessee, Archives,
December 12, 2011 – January 2012. Responsibilities included managing the reading
room, assisting patrons with their research requests, staffing the front desk, and
administering the archives while the director was away on business.

Summer Intern at the Rutherford County, Tennessee, Archives, Summer 2011. Primarily
processed photograph collections. Created digital scans of photograph collections and
created databases to house them. Assisted in design and testing of program created by the
Rutherford County Office of Information Technology to view the archives’ digital
collections. Other duties included assisting patrons, including county government
officials, with their research requests, managing the reading room, and staffing the front
desk.

