Cut-and-cover construction will close Brooklyn

Serves central and south University of
Washington campus, Medical Center,
Husky Stadium and other sports venues.
Underground station (approximately 110 feet
below ground) at southwest corner of Husky
Stadium, east of Montlake Boulevard and NE
Pacific Street.
Entrances with elevators, escalators and stairs
by Husky Stadium and west of Montlake
Boulevard with pedestrian walkway tunnel
under Montlake Boulevard. Option for extended
tunnel walkway north under NE Pacific Place.
Above-ground station facilities include ventilation,
emergency stairs, and bike storage.
Crossover tracks will be built to south of station
platform, third storage track will be built to west.
Options for revising bus transit zones, circulation
and layover plans on nearby streets.
Station will be constructed using cut-and-cover
techniques, excavating from surface, requiring
use of Stadium area parking lots.
Approximately 21,000 boardings in 2030.

Montlake Remote Vent Facility
Site plan reduces the potential for business displacement and also maximizes potential for redevelopment.
Approximately 5,200 square-foot facility providing emergency ventilation and access to light rail tunnels.
During construction, mining techniques will be used and temporary ventilation fans will operate continuously.
Following construction, ventilation systems will be tested periodically but are not used for normal operations.
Landscaping and screening incorporated into design.
