“What’s the difference between 6x6 and tall pitcher cards?” Our 6x6 pitchers are the same size as our batter cards (about 3.5”h x 2.5” w). Warren SPAHN L 1962 MILWAUKEE DEFENSE They work by rolling a third six-sided die and checking the pitcher card to see how the pitcher grade influences the final play result. The third die and variable grades in each column on the pitcher card can change his pitching grade from batter to batter. The allows for a wider variety of possible outcomes during a game with the third die. 1 61 1 2 1 2 A H/R 2 3 4 3 4 0 2 f 1 2 3 4 5 6 4 2 3 1 3 5 5 DEF HOLD 3 1 61 GS GR IP 0 269 ERA 31 1 3 0 4 5 6 3 4 1 1b 2 3 4 2 2b 13 12 3 2 3 4 2 3b 4 3 4 2 ss 1 3 5 4 4 3 ss 2 4 6 4 5 3 2b 3 4 5 4 2 5 3 4 41 f *BATS L4 4 1L 0 H/R 1 2 3 4 5 6 A B 4 2 3 1 3 5 5 2 4 1 3 GS GR IP ERA W-L S WHIP 34 0 269 3.04 18-14 0 1.12 5 W-L S 3.04 18-14 0 Our tall pitcher cards are, well, taller (about 4.25”w x 2.5” h). They are most similar to the pitcher cards found in the original Replay Baseball game published from 1973 to 1990. Their taller size allows each team’s pitcher card to be stacked behind the opposing team’s batter cards during play, for quick reference to his grades. 5 4 L4 0 SPEED 1L *BATS 1962 MILW AUKEE 34 4 6 1 7 S8 1 2 BF 31 WP 4 AGE 41 WP L 1 S-R S8 7 3 AGE Warren SPAHN 5 11 B Note: You can learn more about how the pitcher cards work in the game by reading our Intro and Rules PDF, available on the baseball extras page of our website. 2 2 HOLD WHIP 1.12 With these cards, each pitcher’s grade in each column (normally the row labeled A) do not change from batter to batter and no third die is rolled. This allows for a bit simpler style of play and quick play results, but without some of the fine-tuning and variety of play outcomes possible with the third die and 6x6 pitcher cards. Both types of pitcher cards can produce accurate play results and are fun to use! So it’s just a matter of personal preference. Both versions are available for most seasons.
