Newsletter Hobbs Properties’ New Project: The Grove This April, Hobbs Properties assumed management and leasing of a threebuilding office campus known as The Grove. The Grove is built on historic property known for two things: proximity to downtown and oak trees, for which Raleigh, as the City of Oaks, is famous. This site is also unique due to its 200+ year legacy for its close proximity to the Capital and the main thoroughfare for trade and travel in and out of Raleigh. Today, that historic thoroughfare is known as Wake Forest Road, and The Grove continues to live up to its location’s legacy through its adjacency to both Wake Forest Road and the Beltline. This high trafficked area has hotels, banks, restaurants, and Duke Raleigh Hospital all within walking distance, while North Hills, Midtown, the Six Forks Corridor, and Downtown are just a short drive away. The Tower Building: 1110 Navaho Dr. Completed in the mid-1970’s, The Grove is named for its large grove of oaks, each tree greeting you as you drive through campus on Navaho Drive. The beautiful oak trees have the added bonus of providing shade to cool you down in this summer heat wave. This office location is a prime example of why national and international businesses are increasingly drawn to Raleigh for their new home. Blue Sky Industries Blue Sky Industries, a world-class distributor of aerospace hardware, just announced the opening of its new sales office in Raleigh, North Carolina. Located in The Grove office complex at 1100 Navaho Drive Suite 101, Blue Sky’s new sales facility is perfectly situated to support aviation customers throughout North Carolina and surrounding states. Since the days of the Wright Brothers, North Carolina has had a strong tradition in aviation, and recently has seen a major boom in aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, repair, and overhaul. Blue Sky Industries believes in working close to its customers, so the new Raleigh sales office is a key step for the future. Hobbs Properties Expands Our Team As Hobbs Properties’ management portfolio has grown with the acquisition of The Grove, so has our staff. We are pleased to welcome new maintenance technicians Carlos Palmero and Mike Ector, new marketing intern Ty Hamby, and receptionist Carina Soriano. Ty and Mike have joined Chandler Cunningham in the on-site property management office at The Grove, while Carlos and Carina have joined the Hobbs Properties office at 343 E. Six Forks. While we are excited about the new additions to our team, we are sad to say goodbye to receptionist Nan Pace, who has been at the front desk of our 343 E. Six Forks office since February. We wish her all the best in her next endeavor. New Employees Ty and Mike Spotlight on: The Style Room We are excited to introduce our newest tenant in Clayton, The Style Room. The Style Room is a hair salon that focuses on providing professional and stylish haircuts while fostering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Owner Dee Norris and stylist Sheree Moeller use their years of experience to instill confidence in their clients and satisfy all their hair care needs. To provide their clients with the most enjoyable experience possible, The Style Room offers spacious semi-private styling suites, fresh baked goodies and refreshments, free Wi-Fi, and much more. Beautiful bathroom designed by Katherine Connell Interior Design Hobbs Properties Welcomes Our New Tenants Katherine Connell Interior Design Ms. Norris chose Shotwell Station II as the location for her hair salon because Clayton is a vibrant community undergoing a period of growth, and with new clients booking appointments weekly, she is happy with the transition. Katherine Connell Interior Design is a full service interior design firm that has recently moved into Anderson Plaza West. Katherine Connell, the owner of the design firm, is a Raleigh native and has been an entrepreneur for 10 years. Her staff includes interior designers Kate Horney and Nancy Harvin and design assistant Annie Reithlingshoefer. He is a Raleigh native and graduate of North Carolina State University, where he earned his B.A. in Accounting with a concentration in Finance. The DMV’s new office at Shotwell will provide all the usual services as well as motorcycle licensing. It is an exciting time to be a tenant at Shotwell, because the DMV will attract increased traffic to the shopping center. The DMV will officially open at the end The renovated space for the DMV of the summer, and our project manager Patrick Riley has been hard at work renovating the space to fit their needs.
