Message From The
Dean:
Greetings Daley Students, Faculty, and
Staff!
As the new Dean of Student Services at
Richard J. Daley College I am very
excited to invite you to take part in the
services offered by the Transfer
Resources Center. It is never too late or
too soon to start planning your academic
career once you graduate from Daley
College.
The services offered at the Transfer
Resources Center will not only help
prepare you for that
next step, but give you the necessary
tools to make a successful transition
from the Daley College to the
institution of your choice. I hope you
make it a point to stop in and meet the
staff, gather materials, and most
importantly begin the steps to planning
the next adventure in your academic
career.
Sincerely,
Eduardo Garza

Transfer Student Spotlight: Monica Arceo
As a student at Daley I never really thought about my future after beyond an associates until my cousin who was also a student at a
community college began her search for a four year institution. She really made me understand how important it was to get a bachelor’s
degree and how beneficial it was for my future. After much consideration I decided that the best institution to fit my needs was Loyola
University Chicago. Loyola not only fit with my schedule but also offered a program in psychology that really piqued my interest.
While at Loyola I was able to not only minor in Spanish and Women Studies along with my major in psychology but Loyola gave me the
opportunity to study abroad in Spain. Transferring to a four year institution was not only beneficial to my academic success but also
rewarding personally. I was involved on campus and was able to experience the world. Beginning my academic career at Daley was not
only the step in the right direction but made my education more affordable. I am currently a Master’s student at National-Louis University
and look forward to getting my Doctorate in the near future. I challenge you to think about your future and really seek out services to help
you reach your dreams and keep moving forward.

Plan ahead. The earlier
you begin to prepare for
transfer, the better. Visit
your top choices, collect
transfer materials, and find
out if there are any transfer
agreements between where
you are and where you
want to go. The more
information that you have,
the easier it will be to
make a decision.
