Service Project: Dear Hero Program – Bring white t-shirts, lip balm, socks and deodorant to the mall
event. We may be adding more items to bring. Drop off the items at the service project table and make a
card. Cards and care packages will be sent overseas to our deployed military service members through
the Dear Hero Program at Penn State www.sites.psu.edu/dearheroprogram.
Scavenger Hunt: All day - Scour the mall looking for clues. Start at information table.
Girl Scout Trivia: All day - How much do you know about Girl Scouts? Stop by the awards table.
SWAPS: Noon – center court, or whenever you see a fellow GS with swaps. See the SWAPS page.
Sing-a-long: Join fellow Girl Scouts as we sing songs from camp and learn a few new songs as well.
Photo op: Bring your cameras and take fun pictures of you and your sister Girl Scouts wearing vintage
uniforms or silly props.
Face painting: All day
Food and Shopping Discounts: Be sure to wear your uniforms to receive discounts at participating mall
businesses. There will be a list at the information table of restaurants and stores offering discounts to Girl
Scouts. If you want to keep costs down, bring a bag lunch.
Girl Scout Shop: will be open during event. Troops can preorder with Wendy and product will be brought
to the mall. [email protected]

Activity Table: All troops are encouraged to run a table. See the Troop Activity page.
Awards Table: Junior, Cadette, Senior and Ambassador girls interested in displaying notebooks or
scrapbooks pertaining to earning their Bronze, Silver or Gold Award. Girl and Adult awards will be
presented during the event.
Banners: (2 feet wide by 4 feet tall) Any fabric may be used with a 28” dowel rod attached to the top for
hanging. You may use the event theme or a general Girl Scout theme for your design. Please include
your troop number on the banner. Attach leader’s name, grade level and service unit name to the back of
the banner. All banners are to be delivered to the Greensburg office by: April 14th
Center Court Entertainment: Troops or Service Units can sign up for skits, dances, songs, or demos.
GS History Fashion Show: 2 PM - We have the historical outfits and need girls to show them. Age levels
have been assigned times to select which outfit they are going to wear. Daisy 9-10:30, Brownie 10:30,
Junior 11:30, older girls 12:30. Times can be adjusted.
Recycling Fashion Show: 2:30 PM - Girls can make an outfit (skirt, dress, hat, etc) out of recycled
materials. How about a GS Cookie box skirt? Or a dress or skirt made out of Dad’s old ties? Maybe a hat
made of coffee filters? Let your imaginations soar to take you any place with these outfits.
I’m a star because . . . At closing, the scout walks across star decoated stage, holding a star, stating “I’m
a star because . . .”, and if the girl wants, may talk into the microphone.
Cookie Booth: There are limited time slots available to sell cookies
Uniforms/Vests/Sashes/Girl Scout t-shirts: As with all Girl Scout events we encourage these items to be
worn to show our Girl Scout Pride.
Contact Nancy Carolan, [email protected] 724-515-5767 for more information.
This event is organized and run by volunteers. Help is still needed to turn this from a great event into a
magnificent event.
The GS Mall Event is a family friendly no cost event. Purchase is not required to participate in
activities. Products are available for preorder and a very limited supply may be available event day. Pre-order
your 2” Event Patches $1.25, Mall bags $5, and T-Shirts $10, using following order form. This year’s Mall Bag
includes Dippin’ Dots, cookie decorating participation, mall patch and more.
Troop Activity Tables
To increase the fun and learning opportunities, we would like each troop or group to run an activity table for an
hour or all day. This activity could be a word game activity, a craft, a game to play, a skill you can teach,
activities from your Journey book, something from the list of ideas below, or some other thing you’d like to
share with your sister Girl Scouts. We ask that a minimum of one adult and two to six girls be at the table for
your time slot. Larger troops can rotate adults and girls so everyone can participate in all the activities. Troops
are responsible for providing all the activity supplies.
