Vagdevi Aunty helped different classes chant different kandas from the Naama Ramayana. We ended the GA with guided meditation session led by Aparna Aunty. Class We continued our story of Mahabharata. The Pandavas are living in the forest for the first 12 years of their Exile. Shakuni and Duryodhan were still looking for occasions to hurt and humiliate the Pandavas. An occasion arose when Rishi Durvasa arrived at his palace in Hastinapur. Duryodhan received the Rishi with honors. The Sage was known for his Temper Hence Duryodhan was careful not offend him. Pleased with his hospitality, Durvasa told Duryodhan whether he could do anything to him in return. Duryodhan filled with hatred asked Durvasa to visit the the Pandavas with all his disciples to visit them and give them his blessings. With a large number of disciples, Durvasa started walking towards the cottage of the Pandavas. A delegate was sent ahead to inform the Pandavas that Rishi and all his disciples would be having food after they finish their bath in the river. Draupadi got worried as to how she would feed the sage and everyone as the Akshaya Patra had exhausted itself for the dat. She started praying fervently. Suddenly Krishna appeared infront of her and before she could say anything asked her to feed him as he was very hungry. Draupadi was bewildered at Krishna’s response. She explained to Krishna what is going on and Krishna would have nothing of it. He kept on insisting, I am sure you have some food. Please bring it. Then he started looking into the pots and pans. And then he saw a speck of rice in one of the pots. He said you lied to me I see food here. Draupadi is beyond confused and said that is just a speck of rice. Krishna ate it and said that it appeased his hunger and asked her to bring the glass of water and then he left. All the Pandavas came back and Drauapdi told them what happened. They are all feeling helpless. The delegate came to their cottage again and said that Rishi Durvasa is really sorry but after taking their bath, they don’t feel hungry anymore. And they ask for your forgiveness for preparing all this food. One day, Draupadi said to Yudhisthra that we all know that dice game was rigged and wrong and brought so much pain and suffering for us so why do we wait to finish the things imposed on us for this. Why don’t we claim what is ours already. Yudhisthra said that even thought they did not win it fairly. I would not deter from the path of my Dharma. In another story in Vana parva, one day Rishi Markandanya visited the Pandavas and after listening to their story he started smiling. Yudhishthra could not figure out the reason so he asked. Rishi said that this reminds him of Lord Rama and his exile and similar to that as Yudhishtra is following his Dharma he would be victorious.
