Mission Bay Farms Case Study - Emerging Business Systems, Ltd.

FROM ORDINARY TO
EXTRAORDINARY
Mission Bay Farms
Background –Who?
Mission Bay Farms was originally started as MK
Tree Farms by Dave Berens in 2003. In his
position as a successful commercial property
realtor and developer, Dave recognized the
property to be a great investment for future
residential home development.
Challenge – Why?
After the real estate collapse of 2008, Dave
recognized that the tree farm represented an
immediate return on his investment, as many
landscape professionals expressed interest in the
high quality trees. With the demand for land
development at a virtual standstill, Dave
decided to ‘branch out’ with his tree business.
Strategy - How?
Dave had met Brian Nosie three years earlier at
the MNLA expo and was so impressed with EBS’
model that he hung on to Brian’s card. After
contacting EBS with his idea to launch his tree &
landscape business, they worked with him in the
areas of branding, marketing, web design and
in his back office management systems.
Results - What?
Dave’s new company, Mission Bay Farms, was
launched in March of 2011, with a dynamic new
look & feel. His new materials have allowed him
to hit the ground running and to concentrate
on generating revenue rather than developing
the infrastructure of his company. Dave has
immediately been able to re-connect with many
of his real estate contacts with new-found
credibility and has opened the referral pipeline.
