Timing



For San Jose scale, apply at overwintering black cap life stage of
scale – dormant or delayed dormant.
Other soft scale: apply when crawler stages first appear.
Two applications allowed per season a minimum of 14 days apart.

equipment at approximately 2 MPH.

Length of control depends on scale pressure and your pest management program.

Seize is not toxic to bees and has minimal impact on beneficial insects and other
arthropods that provide regulation of insect pests.

For best results, apply Seize with a spray oil at the manufacturer’s recommended rate.
The active ingredient in Seize has limited water solubility, so oil helps with coverage and
absorption into the scale. No surfactants are required when you use spray oil. Caution
should be used when using oil in walnut because of potential crop damage. When using a
surfactant instead of spray oil, use the higher recommended rate per acre to treat high
scale pressure.

The best time to treat for San Jose scale is to make a dormant or delayed dormant
application. With a delayed dormant application, Seize will also suppress the peach twig
®
borer(PTB), making Seize an ideal partner with DiPel Biological Insecticide in a soft
chemistry scale + PTB program.
