Theboundariesfordodgeballwillbethesameasforbasketball
Teamsaremadeupof8co-edplayers.Playerscanonlyplayforoneteam.
OBJECTOFTHEGAME:Eliminateallopposingplayersandbetheteamwiththemostplayersleft
onthecourt.
THEOPENINGRUSH:
• Eachgamewillbeginwith6ballsplacedonthecenterline.
• Eachteammusthaveatleastonegirlstartingthegame.Playersstartbehindthebaselineandwait
forthewhistletobeblown.
• Onlyoneballcanberetrievedbyaplayer.Itmustbetakenbehindthefree-throwlinebeforeitcan
belegallythrown.Youcannotpass,roll,orpickupaballandsendittoanotherteammate.
• Thegameisoverifallplayersareout.
GAMERULES:Thisisonlya3minuteballgameandshouldbefastpacedwithNostalling.
• Theremustbeaconstantflowofthrowing.Aplayercannothold,hide,or“freeze”ballsandhe/she
canonlyhaveoneballatatime.
• Anyballslyingonthefloorshouldbepickedupimmediatelyandthrownwithin5secondsorthe
playernearesttheballthatdoesnothaveaballinhandwillbeout.
• Allthrowsmustbelegitimatethrowsacrossthemidcourtlineattheplayersontheopposingteam.
NOspikedballsatthefloor,ballsthrownattheceiling,oratthebackwalltoavoidbeingpossibly
caught.
• Ifaballstrikesorevengrazesanypartofaplayer’sbodyorclothing,theplayerisout.
• Iftheballhitstheheadofaplayer,theplayerisnotout.
• Ifaplayercatchesaballoffofateammate,theplayerisnotout.Theplayerwhothrewitisout.
• Anyunsuccessfulattempttocatchaball,wherecontactismadewiththeball,isconsideredanout.
• Outplayersmustformalinealongthesidelineintheordertheyareout.Outplayerswillre-enterat
therefssignalintheordertheyarecalledoutandifateammemberonthecourtcatchesaliveball.
• PlayersMUSTwearsneakers.Nosandalsorflip-flopsallowed.
• NOPROTESTSareallowed
GAMEDEFINITIONS:
LIVEBALL:Aballthathasbeenthrownandhasnottouchedanything,includingthefloor/ground,another
ball,anotherplayer,officialorotheritemoutsideoftheplayingfield(wall,ceiling,etc)
OUTPLAYER:Anyplayerwhohasbeenhitbyaliveballorwhoseopponenthascaughttheirliveball. BOUNDARIESDURINGPLAY:Allplayersmustremainwithintheboundarylinesofthecourt.Playersmay
leavetheboundaryonlytoretrieveaball.AnyplayerthatcrossesthehalfcourtlinewillbeOUT.
