Parent Advisory Board
Greetings parents!
The staff members of ECLCS
believe that parents and families are
partners in the work we do at school
to prepare your children for college.
One way we work with families is
through the Parent Advisory Board.
The Parent Advisory Board is
a group of individuals who have
asked to join the board. They are lead
by a parent-elected Board President
and work on important school issues.
The Parent Advisory Board members
make decisions about school fundraising, advise the principal on parent
concerns, and work together to identify ways to improve ECLCS.
is this coming Tuesday, September
27th. We are looking for more board
members to join. If you’re interested,
please submit a letter of interest addressed to me.
We also encourage all parents
to attend Parent Advisory Board meetings. All meetings are open to the public and agendas are published and posted on school doors ahead of the meeting. I invite each and every one of you
to attend next Tuesdays meeting. Come
with your ideas for ways to improve
ECLCS! I look forward to seeing you
then.

Are you interested in serving on the
ECLCS Parent Advisory Board?
We currently have several open
positions. In order to apply, you
must simply submit a letter to Mrs.
Ivy Wendell in the main office stating why you are interested and why
you would be a good addition to the
board. Check in with Mrs. Ivy
Wendell if you have any questions.
We hope to see many parents at our
first meeting of the year next week!
On September 30th we will celebrate Time Out for Reading. The
whole school will spend 15-30
minutes reading. Students are encouraged to bring slippers or comfy
socks to wear during the reading
time. We are excited to read together!!

month at 5:30 pm. Our next meeting

We prepare our students for college
through a rigorous arts-infused



Our Kindergartners are busy working on patterns in Math. They are
using cubes and pattern blocks to
practice A, B, C patterns.
UA scholars are drawing selfportraits in art class. Ask your scholar how their portrait drawing is going!
The first awarding of the College
Cup will happen this Thursday, September 29th, at Town Hall Meeting.
We will also be awarding our first
round of SHINE Scholar awards.
Students who showed “Respect for
Others” will be recognized at the
meeting. Classes will also present on
our musical genre of the month, the
Blues, and our SHINE trait of the
month.
