Dear Parents,
I am very excited that John Paul II School
will again offer our students another opportunity
to pray together. During October we celebrate
the Month of the Rosary. Once a week during
the month of October, the school children and
teachers will join together to pray the Chaplet of the
Divine Mercy. The chaplet is often said as a rosarybased prayer with the same set of rosary beads used for reciting the Holy
Rosary. As a school, we also pause for a moment each day at the 3:00 hour
to think about Christ’s passion and death as this is the hour which we know
to be the time of His death.
The Student Council opens a Snack Shack every Wednesday on the
stage in the gym. The snacks that are sold are purchased through the lunch
program and are healthy snacks for our students. There are also fresh fruits
available each week.
We welcome all parents to the school on Thursday evening, October
th
13 , for the scheduled Parent Teacher Conferences beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Please be prompt for your conferences so that the teachers can stay on
schedule. We also welcome you to check out the Book Fair that is also
taking place the evening of the conferences in the Multi-Purpose Room.
Feel free to browse through the books before or after your conferences.
The 1st grade classes will take a field trip to the fire station on Friday,
October 14th as a part of Fire Safety Week. The firefighters will come to the
kindergarten rooms on October 12th to talk about fire safety.
