Port Hacking High School has a stable population of around 1140 students, 60% of whom are from the local primary schools and 40% from out of area. The school has a long established reputation in the performing arts and strong connections with its community. We emphasise a balanced education for our students, with the focus on academic achievement but as many opportunities as possible in sport, and creative and performing arts. We aim to produce wellrounded young men and women who have the knowledge, the intellect and the ethics needed to shape their lives. Processes and People Products and Practices Coordinate targeted learning support for students especially; 7T, 8Peer Reading, 9-12 students at risk of failure, support students with disabilities. Welfare Team Targeted and flexible support ensures individuals and groups of students have support for literacy, numeracy and organisation. Formative Assessment A reflection and feedback tool is developed students to reflect on their learning and to provide feedback to teachers on the effectiveness of teaching/learning strategies. DPs / HT T&L Teachers use the tool at the end of units of work to assist them in planning and programming. Teachers continue to embed collegial work practices in classrooms. Teaching standards are used to identify areas for personal, professional development and develop and review individual PDPs. QT Rounds. Quality Teaching Rounds expanded into faculties and as basis for supporting Early Career Teachers.
