As a Semifinalist, Daly represents less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors. She now will fulfill several requirements to advance in the competition in hopes of earning one of about 7,400 National Merit Scholarships totaling about $32 million that will be offered next spring. About 1.5 million juniors entered the annual National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The Commended Students placed among the top five percent of those test takers. Although they will not continue in the 2016 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students will be recognized with a national letter of commendation. Huntley High staff and District 158 administrators are extremely proud of these students’ accomplishments and we wish them continued success in their academic endeavors. ### District 158 Communications and Public Engagement • (847) 659-6105 • FAX (847) 659-6121
