President
Camille Patha, Artist/Real Estate Investor
Because of the generosity of many corporations
and individuals such as you, the Highline
Community College Foundation had its most
successful fundraising year in history, receiving
just over $385,000 in contributions. We thank
you for your generosity and support.
V.P./Operations
Susan Johnson, Relationship Manager, KeyBank
V.P./Finance
Gary Long, City Manager, City of Burien
This past year with your assistance the
Foundation was able to increase the amount for
scholarships to $55,000 and also distributed over
$21,000 in emergency assistance. These funds
were dispersed through Women’s Programs, the
Financial Aid Office, and the Foundation to help
students with unexpected emergency expenses.

Given that support, the Foundation has been able
to assist many more students and programs than
in the past, which also demonstrates how the
need continues to grow, especially with the cost of
college continually increasing. Tuition and fees
are rising and the price tags on books are
escalating and for these reasons, our students are
looking to the kindness of our donors for help
again this year.
The Board of Directors is again asking that you
continue with your generosity in assisting the
Foundation in reaching its goal of $550,000, an
increase of $165,000 over last year.
There are many areas to which you may designate
your donations: unrestricted, scholarships,
emergency assistance, specific programs, and
endowments such as our “New Century
Scholarship Endowment.”

Education is truly a means of improving our
communities and with your contributions you
are an integral part of the process.
Their future, your choice.

*Every effort has been made to ensure
that the list of donors is both accurate
and complete. If your name has been
omitted, misspelled, or otherwise
improperly reported, please contact the
Foundation.
The size of our report is greatly reduced
this year in order to cut costs. We have
not listed donations of less than $99
because of the limited space. We greatly
appreciate all contributions and hope you
understand this cost-cutting measure.
