Goals of the Camps:
I hereby request that you accept the application

into the 2014 Pius X Golf Camp during the dates
set forth in this application, and in consideration
of your acceptance of this application, I will hereby
release Pius X High School, all its employees, and
the camp staff from all claims on account of any
injuries which may be sustained by my son/

This camp will focus on every level of
golfer entering 2nd through 6th grade
next school year. Throughout the camp,
the golfers will receive individual and
group instruction learning about many
facets of the game. There will be competitions, games and prizes and more!

This camp is for golfers entering 7th
through 12th grade next school year.
The fundamentals of golf will be the
main focus the first day while strengthening and improving each golfers individual skill level. The second day’s focus will be improving those skills previously learned and learning how to compete on the course. We will concentrate
on course management and being mentally tough while having fun competing
on the course.

Coach Steph Kolbas started playing golf at the
age of 13 with her brother and father in Canada. Steph won the Ontario Junior Provincial
Championship. She was also a member of the
Canadian Training Matches Team. She has won
many junior championships before coming to
play for the Huskers on a full golf scholarship.
As one of the top players and captain for the
Huskers, she won tournaments at the collegiate
level. Kolbas has won low medalist honors and
2 Nebraska State Amateur Stroke Play Titles and
a Nebraska State Match Play Title. Steph won
the 2007 State Amateur by 21 strokes and was
runner-up 2008. She has also won numerous
City Championships. Steph Kolbas has qualified
for the US Women’s Mid-Amateur and has represented Nebraska on the Women’s State Team.
She has also qualified and played in the US
Women’s Open in 1999. Kolbas has competed
twice in the College Alumni Tourney at Pinehurst, representing Nebraska.
Coach Steph Kolbas has coached for 13 seasons
as Head Coach for the Boys and as an assistant
and 15seasons as Head Coach for the Girls at
Lincoln Pius X High School. The Nebraska
Coaches Association named Stephanie Kolbas as
the Coach of the Year in 2002. She has been a
guest speaker a few times at the Nebraska Athletic Coaches Clinic during the summers. She has
also helped with the Sticks for Kids Program.
Steph Kolbas was named the KFOR/Ralph
Beechner Coach of the Year 2007-2008.

During her time at Pius X, both golf teams have
earned many honors as well as individual and
Team State titles. The 2007 Thunderbolt Boys
Team finished the season with 3 individuals in
the medals and as State Team Runner-Up Champions and a record low team score for the
school. The girls teams have had many top 5
finishes including 3 consecutive State Championships. Many graduating players have earned
golf scholarships to compete at the next level.
