Brewster collapsed early in the
game as they were scored upon
for 20 points while being held to
just eight for themselves. The
second quarter saw the game
tighten up a bit as Brewster hit
for 14 points, while the defense
held the Sailors from Montrose to
seven, enabling Hen Hud to go
into the locker room leading by
only a 27-22 score.
The game remained close for
the remaining two periods but
Brewster couldn't
generate
enough of an offensive attack to
overcome their deficit and take
control of the contest. Hen Hud
outscored Brewster 19-16 in the
third quarter to take a 46-38 lead
into the final eight minutes.
Providing much of the offensive
attack for the 8-1 Sailors were
Billy Parkhurst with 24 points,
and Sam Pritchard who
points. Steve McGee and Kevin
Hannman scored 13 points apiece
in a losing effort for Brewster.
