Expanding the Cast List
The number of speaking parts can easily be increased to approximately 70:
Television Presenters
Increase the number of Television Presenters (ideally to a maximum of ten) and
spread the lines out accordingly.
Reception Children
Increase the number of speaking Reception Children (to a maximum of twelve) and
spread the lines out accordingly.
P.E. Children
Increase the number of speaking P.E. Children (to a maximum of five) and spread
the lines out accordingly.
Lunch Children
As the dialogue for the Lunch Children is a set of repeated lines, you can increase
the number of Lunch Children to as many as required.
Advert Presenter
Increase the number of Advert Presenters (to a maximum of six) and spread the
lines out accordingly.
Day-trip Children
Increase the number of speaking Day-trip Children (to a maximum of twelve) and
spread the lines out accordingly. Furthermore, at the start of the scene (set on the
coach) add as many children as you like to ask, “Are we nearly there yet?”
Reducing the Cast List
The number of speaking parts can easily be reduced to approximately 30; simply
combine any of the following parts and spread the lines out accordingly:

Several lines in the script are not essential to the story and can simply be cut.
Scenes 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 are not essential to the story; any of them can
