Pre and post fitness tests are appropriate, with results being used to provide personal
information, individualized instruction, and indicate student improvement. Fitness scores are
never used as the primary factor in the grading process. Teachers may consider using the
FitnessGram, or Presidential Fitness Test to assess fitness levels.

exercise equipment, web and community resources, and computer software. Assigned reading
and writing assignments which include activity journals and portfolios, are used to broaden the
education experience and contribute to literacy.
