IMF says ethiopia record impressive growth over the last few
years. Figures are showing that, Ethiopia is the fastest growing
non-oil-dependent countries in Africa.
NEW PROJECTS ARE RISING
Turkish contracting, construction and consulting firms are operating in Ethiopia since
1997.As of January 2012, our companies, in the field of construction approximately 405
million 134 thousand 927 dollars, in the field consultancy 39 million 820 thousand dollars
worth of projects had been undertaken. Projects have undertaken by our companies in
Ethiopia as follows; factory, power plant, power lines, highway, tunnel, bridge, about the sea
lanes and feasibility studies for various projects.
There was a very rapid development in the construction sector in Ethiopia in the last 5 years. Dozens of
major infrastructure projects construction is still ongoing which is funded by The World Bank, The African
Development Bank, other financial institutions and organizations, foreign governments. Hydroelectric
power plant projects, wind and solar energy projects, water and sewerage, road projects, construction of
cement factories, railway projects, dry port projects, transmission line projects, electrification projects and
public housing projects, these are projects carried out in this context.Even, Some of the requirements of
the industry machinery, equipment and materials produced within the country, most of the needs in this
area imports form EU countries, Turkey, Saudi Arabia,China, Pakistan and India.
