PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Eight inch commercial down light rated for use with one ceramic metal halide lamp driven by
solid state electronic ballast for improved efficiency, color rendering, and color maintenance.

Housing
1. Plaster Frame - Heavy duty, .040 black baked enamel, one-piece steel frame. Circular
and curved linear knockouts allow for use of cable suspension hardware. Thick .075 bracket
securely riveted to frame with electrical junction box and ballast. Wing nut and .075 steel
strap secure ballast to mounting bracket and allow for ease of maintenance.
2. Mounting - Two 13-3/4" to 24" adjustable bar hangers with nails are included on frame.
Bar hangers are parallel to junction box, but can be repositioned 90˚ perpendicular to junction
box if desired. Bar hanger foot contoured to align to bottom of construction joist. A T-Bar
notch allow for easy installation in a suspended ceiling.

Clearance
Non-IC Housings require a minimum clearance of 3" around from thermal insulation and 1/2"
from combustible material from above the fixture.

A wide variety of scoop type wall washers are available for consistent,

Electrical System
1. Ballast – Integral high power factor electronic solid state Type-1 ballast. Ballast provides
automatic termination upon end of lamp life. i.e. “End of Life” protection.

2. Socket Cup - Socket cup adjusts vertically for optimum light performance. Die cast fin
construction for heat dissipation.
3. Socket - Porcelain 4KV pulse rated medium screw base socket.
4. Junction Box - Plaster frame integrated 29 cu. in. junction box .064 galvanized steel with
seven 1/2” knockouts, 4 pry-outs and snap on cover. Electrical connections are made through
a single junction box door. Green wire provided for installations with ground wire fed through
PVC pipe conduit.
5. Thermal - External thermal device located on the j-box wrap.
