KG Restoration with long-time security We about us Enke has been facing the challenges of the market since 1924. The high standards fixed by Enke guarantee for the users products of the highest quality and safety for long-time assurance. The industry is forced, without interruption, to remove and move goods from one store to the next. That should be done, for safety reasons, below a dense roof and on an intact floor. It has been ensured by Enke for more than 75 years that roofs are water-tight, that floors are sturdy and that metal roofing is storm-resistant. Enke products have become known for their high reliability, even under extreme conditions, beyond the borders of the Federal Republic of Germany It is not just by accident that international automobile manufacturers clean up and restore, for instance, their works halls or administration buildings also outside of Germany for safety reasons by means of Enke products – whether in Russia, China or in Switzerland. All users like to apply our high-quality products because they do not pose any problems and can be processed in a time-saving manner. The sum of the advantages, as a consequence, is the fact that the term Enke has both with customers and processors - become a synonym for high-quality tin sheet bonding techniques as well as roof and floor redevelopment. We notice this because we hardly have to recommend ourselves – we are being recommended! We are especially proud of the loyalty of our major customers who partly have, again and again, requested already for decades only the Enke products that have proven their worth under practical conditions. This is a nice achievement for a medium-sized specialized enterprise. Enke is a product that can be recommended without reservations. 2 Restoration with long-time security EnkoClean Special Cleanser for all cases www.enke-werk.de 3 Restoration with long-time security W e have enlarged our range of EnkoClean products. The strength values achieved meet the DIN Standard 1055 “Design Loads for Buildings (wind loads)”, which can be proven by neutral expert opinions on bonds that are up to 30 years old. In the case of large-area placement of assemblage of façades roofs, etc. the stripwise or partial surface Enkolit® bonding will allow an improvement of the level fixation of the assemblage surface in the visual range. Enkolit® is a permanent bonding and sealing agent that can be used without any problems for bonding purposes in the case of window sill and wall coverings. 10 In the same way, verge flashing and eaves tin sheet as well as metal sheathing can be bonded by means of Enkolit®. Hollow spaces are avoided on account of the full surface, rich and closely fitting bonding with Enkolit ® . In addition, the bonding has a noise attenuation effect. Drum noises during rain are avoided and the nesting of insects is prevented. What is more, Enkolit ® prevents corrosion damage due to moisture at the lower side of the tin sheet. Enkolit® will not run down, even when freshly applied at vertical surfaces, provided it has been applied strictly according to the Application Instructions. Laboratory tests have shown that Enkolit® will not run out of the bonding joint up to +110 °C. Enkolit ® is resistant to industrial exhaust gases, salt and sea water. It is resistant to red algae and fungicide. Restoration with long-time security MetallProtect W E N Metal Protecting Coating (One component) Adhesion on new plates and sheets secure for long-time endurance, without any pre-treatment www.enke-werk.de 11 Restoration with long-time security MetallProtect More Quality – More Se-curity! You know the problem: Clipped-on eave gutters, fascia sheets, pipe bows or downcomers below bituminous roof surfaces are damaged again and again by oxidation acid corrosion. The reason: Bitumen acids are formed through UV radiation, moisture and oxygen at the surface and are washed off by rain. These acids are responsible for the fact that metal components lose their protective layer or cannot form these protective layers in the first place, and they are gradually destroyed, as a consequence. Enke Metal Protect is a completely novel one-component protective paint coat that is distinguished by a highly permanent property and high covering power. A special advantage is the fact that only old or already painted metal components have to be cleaned prior to application. New metal components do neither have to be cleaned nor to be degreased! With only one single layer, it is possible to achieve a reliable long-time protection effect against oxidation acid corrosion. The processing of Enke Metal Protect is effected by means of brush, roller or from the spray can. A thin, highly tearing-resistant fabric can be located in the painting in the region of the soldering seams in order to additionally protect this sensitive area. Technical Data Basis: Weather-resistant acrylic resin Resistance: To bitumen decomposition products Viscosity: Approx. 4,000 mPas (thixotropic) Consumption: Approx. 140 ml/m2 (ap-prox. 200 g/m2) Colour: Grey (approx. RAL 7040) Surface: Silky matt Covering power: High Drying period: Rapidly drying Properties: Very good long-time adhesion properties on new, weathered and pre-weathered metal surfaces. Elastic and flexible in temperatures down to at least -25 °C. Underground: On new, clean sheets, no special pretreatment is required (e.g. degreasing). In the case of sheets with an old layer, the adhesion must be tested. In the case of weathered off and soiled sheets, a thorough cleaning is required, possibly also grinding. Processing Application either by means of brush or roller, or – now new – from spray can. A fleece or fabric strip can be placed above soldering seams. Cleaning of tools: By means of nitro thinner or similar agent. Do not use a turpentine substitute. Or a balcony where the connecting height in the range of the door was measured much too small? Where the fixing of a cap flashing piece at penetrations or supports could be achieved only by time-con-suming actions? Not to mention the damage done to the plastic or wood profiles which may be caused when using a welding torch? In these cases, the application of Enkopur®, Enkryl® or Enkepren with Polyflex fleece inset is the most simple, most reliable and most secure solution. All three liquid plastic agents are one-component agents, which means they can readily be processed. Cumbersome mixing processes can be dispensed with. It is to be recommended, however, to engage an experienced special enterprise for the preparation of the underground. 22 Restoration with long-time security Enke Betoncoat® PUR Processing Instructions Primer Coating with reaction resins For an underground consisting of concrete, cement composition floor as well as other floors with mineral binding, Primer 2K will be used. An underground made of old PUR – or EP – reaction resin cover layers or metals require the application of Primer 2K Aqua (the underground must, in this case, be absolutely free from grease). In this case it should be examined, in any case, whether the old surface cover is still suitable for the acceptance of an over-coating, that means whether it is connected still firmly enough with the underground. For instructions for the selection of the most suitable primer, please see the Primer Table overleaf. In general, the following should be taken into account: In case the underground to be coated consists of unknown materials or of materials the properties of which cannot unequivocally be determined or if adhesion problems are to be expected, due to insufficient self-strength of the underground, it will become necessary to carry out adhesion tension tests, for instance by means of the HERION device. The average adhesion tension strength must amount to 1,5 N/mm2 in which connection the smallest individual value is not allowed to be smaller than 1,0 N/mm2 . The primer coating must always be applied with pores, if any, being densely sealed. The primer coat can, if required, be slightly sandblasted. Components A + B are completely mixed and thoroughly mixed by means of a suitable impeller to achieve a homoge-nous result. Pour out the primer and apply uniformly by means of a roller, while the pores are densely sealed – avoid the formation of major puddles. 23 Restoration with long-time security Enke Betoncoat® Application of PUR coating or PUR asphalt coating PUR Processing Instructions ENKE CONCRETE COAT – polyurethane coating (PUR coating or PUR asphalt coating) is allowed to be applied only on those undergrounds that have properly been pre-treated according to our Application Guidelines. PUR coating is supplied without pigments and should, as a consequence, be always sealed by means of a colour component. The sealing not only will increase the abrasion resistance but also ensures a satisfactory colour shade and yellowing stability. Coats without sanding can be supplied with Sealing 1K, skid-proof surfaces should be sealed after sweeping off of the loose quartz sand with Sealing 2K in colours. See also, in this connection, the Processing Instructions under “Application of Sealing 2K Aqua”. It should be taken into account that Sealing 1K is allowed to be applied only on completely smooth undergrounds. See also, in this connection, the Processing Instructions under “Application of Sealing 1K”. Initially, stir up Component A by means of a compulsory mixer, then add Component B completely and mix both components very thoroughly until complete homogeneity has been achieved. (We recommend filling the mixed coating mass into a clean, dry neutral vessel and subsequently mixing it again thoroughly). Pour out the coating mass and apply it uniformly by means of a teethed spatula. In the case of larger smooth surfaces, the coating mass can also be distributed by means of a doctor blade. 24 Restoration with long-time security Enke Betoncoat® Application of top-coat 2K Aqua PUR Processing Instructions An underground surface where Sealing 2K Aqua is to be applied is in most cases coated and equipped with sanding. The sand grains that are not bound must be removed before the sealing process is started. Old coatings made of epoxy resins or polyurethane types, which are still well preserved and firmly connected with the under-ground surface, can be newly processed without additional primer directly by means of Sealing 2K Aqua in colours. Sealing 2K Aqua is solvent-free, low-odour and stable in colour-shade. The surface is permitted to be used only after the sealing has completely become tack-free. Pour the components A + B completely together and mix them thoroughly with each other (electrical impeller). It is advisable, for instance, to pour the pre-mixed sealing mass into another vessel. Pour out the mixed Sealing 2K Aqua in small portions and distribute them uniformly by means of a roller crosswise.
