Studentsareresponsibleforattendingclassandobtainingnotesastheyaregiven.Ifthe
studentisabsent,thestudentisresponsibleforobtainingnotesfromaclassmate.Notes

Studentsanticipatinganabsenceforamajorreligiousholidayareresponsiblefornotifying

HomeworkAssignments
Homework(HW)willbeassignedweeklyandduethefollowingweek,seeschedule.HW
mustbeturnedinbeforeleavingclass.LateHWwillnotbeaccepted.Attheendofthe
semester,thelowestHWscorewillbedropped.Thereare12HWsassigned,11HWswill
counttowardyourfinalgrade.Studentswhohaveanexcusedabsenceonaduedate(such
asathletesetc.)mustarrangetosubmitHWbeforetheduedate.SeeHWformattingbelow.
Quizzes
Quizzeswillbegivenonasemi-regularbasiswithoutpriornoticeduringthefirst5-7
minutesofclass.Thesearegivenforcontinuityofcoursecontentandforincreasingselfawarenessofprogresswithinthecourse.
Examination
Thethreeexamsaregiventodeterminethestudents’understandingoftheintended
learningoutcomesforthiscourse.Studentswillneedtobringascientificcalculatorforall
exams.Communicationdevicessuchascellphonesortabletsmaynotbeused.No
referencematerialmaybesuppliedbythestudent.Priortoeachexam,thestudentwillbe
providedalistofanyreferencematerialthatwillbesuppliedbytheinstructor.The
numberoneexperienceoftesttakersisfeelingliketheyneedmoretime,soawisestudent
wouldpreparefortheaddedtimeconstraintbyperformingpracticeexamsaswrittenin
thecourseoutline.Ifastudentmissesatestbecauseofanexcusedabsence,theaverageof
theothertestgradeswillbeassignedtothemissedtest.
