This act gives EPA the jurisdiction to control the generation, transportation,
treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste. This is “cradle-to-grave”
control.
This addresses the issue of improper handling of chemicals that have caused
many environmental problems.
It also encouraged recycling, resource recovery, waste reduction.
