Brief
HitekNOFAL UCAO 4-9 is the fastest closure to be terminated in the field. Its outstanding simple design of 2 half
shells sealed with a reusable silicone gasket ensures a highly reliable splice area. The UCAO closure is simply hand
closed by clamping action with no special tools. It is by all means an outstanding innovation in the mechanical
closures design.
UCAO provides excellent cable strain relief and space for excess buffer tube storage. Moreover the ease of
opening and closing makes this closure ideal for access networks.

Two half shells made of high performance plastic material sealed with
a reusable silicone ring
Five stainless steel and plastic tensioners are used for securely closing
the closures and closed by hands with no special tools
An anti-access device option can be installed on the clips to prevent unauthorized
access (optional)
The two cable entries on each end face of the closure can accommodate cables with
outer diameters of up to 21 mm each cable entry and can be adapted to fit four cables of
up to 8 mm diameter with the use an additional cable entry set

Fiber Management

Standard Splice Tray
 The four entries of the standard splice tray allows for 2 buffer tubes to be fixed from each side of the
tray
 For easier access at a future time, it is recommended to store a maximum of 12 single fiber splices.
 An excess fiber length of 1200mm is stored in the tray.
 Bending diameters between 60mm and 80mm is assured for minimum bending stress and
attenuations.
 Splice organizers are required for fiber storage in the standard tray.
 Closure can accommodate 5 trays. i.e. maximum splice capacity of 60 fibers

MFT Splice Tray
 The splice organization for up to 24 heat shrink or crimp splice protectors is included in the MFT
splice tray
 Allows for a minimum fiber bend radius of 60mm
 MFT provides a real fiber management, e.g. in order to change the direction of fibers. Together with
the multiple trays mounting access it is also possible to manage complicated network structures.
 Closure can accommodate 6 trays. i.e. maximum splice capacity of 144 fibers
 All accessories for fixing and managing buffers and fiber cores are part of the cassette body

Kit Contents
Each closure kit contains all parts for installation of a straight joint including the accessories for fiber
management. Application specific accessories such as splice trays and splice protectors have to be ordered
separately.
