Maths in the Palace The Palace is full of different shapes. See which shapes you can find as you walk around both inside and outside the Palace. What shape is the painting on the ceiling? b) What other 2D shapes can you find on the walls and the floor? 9] The First State Room a) What time does it say on the two clocks in this room? b) Stand looking at the painting of the lady above the fireplace. If you turned ¼ way round clockwise what would you be looking at? c) If you then turned ½ way round anticlockwise what would you be looking at? 10] The Second State Room a) Do you think that both Tapestries are the same size? b) Look around the edge of one of the Tapestries. Which measurement seems to be the longest, the height or the width? c) What 2D shape are the Tapestries? d) Look at one of the large mirrors in this room. How many right angles can you see in the mirrors? 11] The Third State Room Stand so you are looking out of the windows.
