Whate’er My God Ordains Is Right © 2011 Manicotti Music/8 Brothers Press. CCLI #353794 Whate’er my God ordains is right: His holy will abideth. I will be still whate’er He does, And follow where He guideth. He is my God, though dark my road. He holds me that I shall not fall. And so to Him, I leave it all, He holds me that I shall not fall. Whate’er my God ordains is right: He never will deceive me. He leads me by the proper path; I know He will not leave me. I take, content, what He has sent. His hand can turn my griefs away, And patiently, I wait His day, His hand can turn my griefs away. Whate’er my God ordains is right, Though now this cup I’m drinking May bitter seem to my faint heart, I take it all unshrinking. My God is true each morn anew. Sweet comfort yet shall fill my heart, And pain and sorrow shall depart, Sweet comfort yet shall fill my heart. Whate’er my God ordains is right. Here shall my stand be taken. Though sorrow, need, or death be mine Yet I am not forsaken. My Father’s care is round me there. He holds me that I shall not fall, And so to Him I leave it all, He holds me that I shall not fall. Call to Worship (Revelation 15:3-4) Leader: And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations! Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.” Crown Him with Many Crowns Text by Matthew Bridges, 1851; Godfrey Thring, 1874 Tune by George Elvey, 1868; arr. David Hampton, 1998 Crown Him with many crowns, The Lamb upon His throne; Hark! How the heav’nly anthem drowns All music but its own! Awake, my soul, and sing Of Him who died for thee, And hail Him as thy matchless King Thru all eternity. Crown Him the Lord of love: Behold His hands and side-Rich wounds, yet visible above, In beauty glorified. No angel in the sky Can fully bear that sight, But downward bends His wond’ring eye At mysteries so bright. Crown Him the Lord of life: Who triumphed o’er the grave Who rose victorious to the strife For those He came to save. His glories now we sing, Who died and rose on high, Who died eternal life to bring And lives that death may die. Crown Him the Lord of years, The Potentate of time; Creator of the rolling spheres, Ineffably sublime: All hail, Redeemer, hail! For thou has died for me: Thy praise shall never, never fail throughout eternity. Crown Him the Lord of heav’n: One with the Father known, One with the Spirit thru Him giv’n From yonder glorious throne. To Thee be endless praise, For Thou for us hast died; Be thou, O Lord through endless days Adored and magnified. Confession of Sin Almighty and merciful Father, You have called us to be your people and have made us one body. Yet we have not lived like we are one body. We have not loved one another as we ought. Selfish ambition has gripped us, and we have failed to look out for others’ interests above our own. Conceit has gripped us, and we have failed to associate with and care for those who are different from ourselves. We have not treated one another as those in whom Christ dwells. We have not treated one another as those in whom Christ dwells. Forgive us for our offenses against You, and go on to subdue everything in us that is contrary to Your purposes. By the power of Your Spirit make us a community that shows forth Your love, truth, kindness and power, Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Him exalting, self abasing— This is victory. Assurance of Pardon (Ephesians 2:19-22) So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In Him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. May His beauty rest upon us As we seek the lost to win, May they look beyond the channel, Seeing only Him. Revelation Song “Revelation Song” words and music by Jennie Lee Riddle © Gateway Create Publishing/ Integrity’s Praise! Music. CCLI # 353794 Worthy is the Lamb who was slain; Holy, holy is He. Sing a new song to Him who sits on Heaven’s mercy seat. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty Who was and is and is to come; With all creation I sing praise to the King of kings; You are my everything, and I will adore You. Clothed in rainbows of living color Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder; Blessing and honor, strength and glory and power be To You, the only wise King. Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder At the mention of Your Name; Jesus, Your Name is power, breath and living water, Such a marvelous mystery. May we run the race before us, Strong and brave to face the foe, Looking only unto Jesus As we onward go. Philippians 2:1-11 1 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, 2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. We Fall Down “We Fall Down” words and music by Chris Tomlin © 1998 Worshiptogether.com.songs CCLI #353794 We fall down, we lay our crowns At the feet of Jesus, The greatness of mercy and love At the feet of Jesus. May the Mind of Christ, My Savior Text: Kate B. Wilkinson, 1925 Music: A. Cyril Barham-Gould, 1925, alt. 1990 May the mind of Christ my Savior Live in me from day to day, By His love and pow'r controlling All I do and say. May the Word of God dwell richly In my heart from hour to hour, So that all may see I triumph Only thru His pow'r. May the peace of God my Father Rule my life in ev'rything, That I may be calm to comfort Sick and sorrowing. May the love of Jesus fill us As the waters fill the sea; And we cry holy, holy, holy, And we cry holy, holy, holy, And we cry holy, holy, holy, Is the Lamb.
