Dear host family, my name is Christina and I'm currently 15 years old. Even though I'm Greek I live with my parents and my older
sister in a house, in a small town in Germany. I don't have any other siblings. I like to express myself through art, so I customised
my room with my creativity. Sadly we don't have any pets, but I love animals and always wanted to have a dog, cat or a turtle.
I'm in the 10th grade of a German high school.
It was always my dream to see different countries and experience their cultures. I'm really excited to spend a year in the USA and
go to an American high school. I'm looking forward to the different sports, school system, activities and the people there. I'm also
keen on trying new subjects out and learn more. I grew up bilingual and went to a German elementary school, but also had Greek
lessons where I learned reading, writing, grammar and of course speaking. I always liked learning languages a lot. My favorite
subject way always english, yet I like chemistry, art, computer science, german, and latin too. I don't like maths too much. I think a
good education is really important, so I always give my best in school and study a lot for my exams.
I love to meet new people and make friends, but I can be a bit quiet and shy, when I don't know a person that good. But after I got
to know someone better I talk a lot, like to have fun and spend time with them. I spend most of my free time with my friends, we
often go the cinema, bake together, go to the mall, play video-games or go swimming or skateboarding when the weather is good.
I frequently go shopping with my sister or my mom.
I'm really passionated about playing e-guitar, I try to practise every day for an hour. Music means in general a lot to me, that's why
I listen nearly all the time to it. I like to rollerblade and wanted to try something new out, so I started skateboarding about a year
ago. I always like to try new things out and challange myself. I like reading books and watch movies like Lord of the rings, Harry
Potter and other fantasy stories, but I also like poetry and short stories, especially by Edgar Alan Poe.
Besides that I'm interested in video-games and enjoy playing them a lot. I used to play voleyball in a volleyball club until a while
ago, now I just try to go jogging once a week, which is not always working because sometimes I just like to relax and be a bit lazy.
My family and I spend nearly every summer vacation in Greek where I see my grandparents and am the majority of the time at the
beach and swim and play beach volleyball with my dad and my sister. My family and friends mean a lot to me, I know that they'll
always be there for me and help me when I've problems.
I am really excited to meet you and spend the following year with you.
