Quaffer Ku De Ta Pinot Grigio
Wine Library $8.99/bottle
Ku De Ta [coup d'etat] Pinot Grigio has a medium bodied dry and crisp taste with
subtle hints of red apple, almond and citrus. The firm structure, delicate perfume
and lingering finish is best enjoyed chilled with pasta in cream sauces, risottos,
veal, chicken and fresh seafood dishes.
Trentino is an autonomous wine-producing province in the far north of
Italy, bordering Lombardy to the west and Veneto to the south and
east. The province forms the southern half of the Trentino-Alto Adige
region, the other half being Alto Adige (Sudtirol to its largely Germanspeaking population).
Trentino-Alto Adige's terroir is very similar to that of Alto Adige,
although 500ft lower down the valley and slightly less dominated by
the mountains above. Nonetheless, it remains characterized by the
alpine peaks which soar upwards for many thousands of feet above
the Adige valley floor. The peaks and ridges bring protection from the
elements, casting a rain shadow over the valley and channeling warm
air currents through it as the land heats up and cools down over the
day. It is this reliable mountain breeze that keeps the vineyards here
so free from undesirable rot and fungal diseases.

Region: Argentina > Neuquen > Patagonia
Balanced Bargain Fantastic Rich Smooth Sweet
Jelu, from the native Huarpe Indian language meaning sun, comes from the lesser
known winemaking region of Patagonia, Argentina. The vineyards are planted in the
valley of the Neuquen River, and only the best grapes are hand selected for their Pinot
Noir. Led by British Master of Wine Angela Muir, her winemaking team has created an
environment that brings out the best of the Argentinean terroir. While Patagonia is best
known for it's breathtaking landscapes, recent investment has been made in creating
world class vineyards. This Pinot Noir has a little bit of everything, balanced flavors,
good acidity, smooth tannins and a really nice finish. This wine would pair well with
plenty of foods including roast pork or chicken, but it very approachable on its own.
The entire Jelu project was sprearheaded in 2002 by British Master of Wine Angela
Muir, and her leadership has created a winemaking environment that brings out the best
of the Argentinean terroir. In a short amount of time some of their vineyard have already
been recognized as a potentially world class site for wines and the entire project was
created to promote the uniqueness terroir of the Zonda Valley and the growing
conditions of Patagonia.
While Patagonia is best known for it's breathtaking landscapes and seemingly harsh
climate swings, recent investment has been made in creating world class vineyards.
The combination of the unique growing conditions and soil types allow winemakers to
produce interesting wines of character and elegance for a fraction of the price of their
counterparts in the United States or Europe. One of the area's best virtues is the swift
winds which produces dryness in the atmosphere helping to avoid any outbreaks of
diseases. This translates into the possibility of becoming a hot spot for organically
grown wines that do not need the use of agro-chemical protections.

Stema Pinot Nero From Italy
Wines from Cool Vines $13.00
Color:Red
Body/Type:Light Bodied
Style:Traditional
Grapes:Pinot Nero
Serve At:50°-54° F
Region:Italy > Veneto
100% Pinot Nero (Italian Pinot Noir) from the Veneto. Lot's a playful fruit but with a bit of
rustic Italian flavors, this light bodied red is a tremendous value and an excellent pairing
for simple dishes and pastas.
Veneto is one of the most prolific wine regions in Italy. Verona, its capital, has been an
important wine center since Roman times. Commercial success hasn't always had
beneficial effects on the wines. Since the 1970s perceptions of Veneto's most venerable
wines - notably Valpolicella and Soave - have suffered thanks to overproduction and the
inferior quality of big producers. Thanks to a new generation of small producers who
tend their own vines and make their own juice, Veneto's comeback is picking up
momentum. The new wines are refreshing and nuanced, whether red or white. Tastes
are changing again and these wines are right for the times - all the more so because
they offer unbeatable price/quality

the grapes were drawn from Monterey and 15% from Sonoma with equal parts
fermented in stainless steel and neutral oak. Aging continued for another 8 months in
large neutral oak barrels. You'll find ripe fruit flavors accentuated by a surprising depth
and earthiness. Try it with salmon and lentils with a mustard cream.

Huia Pinot Noir from New Zealand
Wines from Cool vines-$24.00

Style:Modern
Grapes:Pinot Noir
Serve At:57°-63° F
Region:New Zealand > South Island > Marlborough
Husband and wife team Mike and Claire Allan have been crafting world class wines
from Marlborough, New Zealand for the past twenty years. Establishing Huia, named
after unique song birds who made their home in the region and have since disappeared,
is an example of their commitment to embrace appropriate, environmentally and
economically sustainable wine grape production methods. Their 2007 Pinot Noir was
sourced from their three Pinot Noir vineyards, whose soil types vary from Rapaura
riverstone to the clay loam of the upper Brancott Valley. The effects of the climatic
differences within the Wairau Valley also add to the complexity of flavors found within
the grapes. It’s a classical blend of six Pinot Noir clones with each impart their unique
flavors to the wine. It’s a wine with depth, balance and juicy tannins, perfect for roast
pork or rack of lamb.
Established in 1996, Huia (pronounced "HOO-yah") Vineyards is owned and operated
by Mike and Claire Allan, who were drawn to Marlborough by the intense flavors found
in Marlborough's Sauvignon Blancs. Over the past fifteen years, the Allans have
developed an enviable reputation in New Zealand, particularly for their sustainable and
aromatic dry whites. Committed to the production of premium and classical Marlborough
wines, Huia is focused on hand crafting unique wines that express the richness of
Marlborough grapes from the vineyard through to the table. To ensure New Zealand
stays clean and green for future generations, Huia has become a member of the New
Zealand Sustainable Winegrowers. Both the winery and the vineyards have received
the Sustainable Accreditation.
Surprising to many, the now famous wine region of Marlborough on the South Island of
New Zealand didn't have a commercial vineyard until 1973. Now, Marlborough produces
some of the best Sauvignon Blanc's and Pinot Noir's in the world, and is by far the most
prestigious wine growing districts in the country. With almost 40% of the entire country's
vineyards planted, the distinctive cool climates give the winemakers the capability of
making wines with real elegance.
