COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS
Following on from our recent Ofsted Inspection, we are aware that some parents showed concern regarding
how school communicates with parents. Please find below the main ways in which we communicate with
parents. If you think there is another idea/initiative that would be useful, please speak to us as it is important
for us to ensure that parents are aware of all the things happening in school.
 Our main communication method is via Parentmail. This will usually be through Parentmail email as this
is free for school to use. If a message needs to be sent out at very short notice we will use Parentmail
text. Please check your email regularly and inform us if you change email address or if you are not
receiving emails so we can help you to correct this.
 A weekly school newsletter is put together with key information and reminders on. This is sent via email
and put on the school website weekly.
 We regularly update the school website and calendar on the website to keep parents informed.
 Classes send out a half termly newsletter with their topics on.
 A termly celebration booklet is sent at the end of each term celebrating the successes of the school.
 We have recently set up a Twitter account @Midgleyschool. If you don’t have Twitter you can still read
the latest feeds on the school website.
 In an emergency or if a child is unwell we will still continue to contact you by telephone using the
emergency contacts you have provided to us.
RAFFLE TICKETS – ROTARY CLUB OF SOWERBY BRIDGE
Children have been given a book of raffle tickets each today. These cost £1.00 per book. If you would like to
purchase them please send the raffle ticket stub back with payment after the holidays.
We have agreed to support this raffle as a thank you to Jo from Tesco who has helped with cooking in school
and has donated a lot of items and cooking ingredients to school.
If you should wish to contact our School Governors, please do so through our Clerk to Governors —
Kate Duckett. Her email address is [email protected].
Please note that we have pupils with severe nut allergies in school. Please remember to try and avoid
bringing nuts and nut products into school. Thank you for your consideration.
