The MSGA Scholarship Fund The MSGA Scholarship Fund is the primary charity of the Maine State Golf Association, Inc. Since 1950 the Scholarship Fund has reached out to aspiring young golfers across the state to assist them with the cost of higher education. A portion of all revenues generated by the MSGA is set aside for the Fund, while the Charlie’s Maine Open Pro Am and the Scholarship Classics remain our largest dedicated fundraisers. Currently, each new scholarship awarded is for $1,100. Candidates are undergraduate students and high school seniors who demonstrate an active participation in golf as a player and/or employee, who have a strong academic record, and who show financial need. Once awarded, the Scholarship is good for up to four continuous undergraduate years as long as the student remains in good academic standing. In 2010, the Scholarship Committee was able to name 13 new MSGA Scholars, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and donors. Maine State Golf Association, Inc.
