Norwin Middle School Auditorium at 6:30 P.M.
Knight of Talent Guidelines:
1. Participants must be current 7th or 8th grade students at Norwin Middle School.
2. Students may only participate in one act. This may be either a group or solo act.
3. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their TALENT in this show. Examples of possible acts include,
but are not limited to: singing, dancing, instrumental performance, poetry readings, acting monologues,
comedy acts, magic, etc. No lip-synching or acts with live animals.
4. All acts must be school-appropriate in nature. All music, lyrics, dialogue, etc. must be free from profanity and
inappropriate language. Costumes must be in good taste. If you have a special need to wear a costume that is
questionable, please consult Ms. Sasso in room 223.
5. Students mush supply their own music and props. A CD with music (if applicable) must be left with the
directors at the time of the screening audition.
6. Every student wishing to audition for the Talent Show must turn in a permission slip to Ms. Sasso in room 223
on or before Tuesday, January 10 stating that they will comply with these guidelines and giving parental
permission to audition and participate in the show. If performing in a group, each member must turn in an
individual parent permission form in order to audition. All permission slips are due PRIOR to the auditions
after school.
7. After turning in permission slips, each act must attend the screening audition on Tuesday, January 10, after
school on from 3-5:30. Students will need to make arrangements for transportation home. Please note: If you
do not attend this screening audition, you will not be in this year’s show,
8. At the screening audition, the act must consist of EXACTLY what the student will be performing the Talent
Show. This includes costume, music, etc. (In other words, wear what you will wear and do what you will do for
the show. The complete act must be presented for the screening audition.) Talent Show acts are limited to 4
minutes in length.
9. Because of time restraints, we may need to limit the number of acts in the show on January 20. If your name
does not appear on the final list, you have not been selected to participate in this year’s Talent Show. The final
list of acts chosen for the show will be posted in front of the auditorium on the morning of Tuesday, March 1.
10. Acts that have been chosen to participate must be able to report for each of the rehearsals. These rehearsals
are on Tuesday, January 17 and Thursday, January 19 after school from 3-5:30.
11. All performers will need to report to the middle school in costume and with any and all props by 5:30 on Friday,
January 20 (the day of the show).
