Vocab–Fraction Notation
This is what you will see when you open the Vocab–Fraction Notation file on the
SMART® Board:
You can:
 Have children express what unit fraction one of the bins in each group
represents, such as one-half or one-third.
 Have children practice using fraction notation by writing the fraction ½ on one of
the blue bins and ⅓ on one of the green bins.
