Night Sections 1-3 TEST REVIEW You will complete this review on notebook paper to help you prepare for your test. You will TURN THIS REVIEW IN, once completed, for a grade on proper citation! CHARACTERS: Find textual evidence that describes each character, physically, emotionally, or characteristically. Cite your evidence properly. Moshe the Beadle Elie Wiesel Stein of Antwerp Madame Schächter Tzipora Dr. Mengele Mr. Wiesel (Elie’s father) Below is an example for how you are to do this. You can use my example for Moshe the Beadle, or find your own. Moshe the Beadle “Nobody ever felt embarrassed by him. Nobody ever felt encumbered by his presence. He was a past master in the art of making himself insignificant, of seeming invisible” (pg. 1). LITERARY ELEMENTS: Find one textual example for each. Cite your textual evidence properly. Foreshadowing Irony Simile Metaphor Ex) Metaphor- “We were already accustomed to rumors of this kind. It was not the first time a false prophet had foretold to us peace-on-earth, negotiations-with-the-Red-Cross-for-our-release, or other false rumors. . . .And often we believed them. It was an injection of morphine” (pg. 76). ----------------------------------------------------*For Simile and Metaphor, make sure you know WHAT is being compared. You don’t have to write that part out, but I want to make sure you are aware of what two things are being compared. Ex) In the metaphor above the author is comparing how “rumors” gave them a feeling of hope and took away some of the pain of the reality of their situation, in the way that “morphine” takes away physical pain.
