(PICK) 3 TROJAN NATION (5-2)
This is a great spot for this maiden. He’s got
turf in the pedigree and clearly can handle
the distance. Massive 82-1 runner-up in the
G1 Wood. Not really disgraced in the BEL in
his last start when overmatched. Back with
his friends in this spot. Van Dyke was up in
the morning drills. Looks very tough in here.
(PICK) 4 WHERE’S THE MOON (8-1)
Miller and these owners have done well with
New Mexico shippers to Del Mar in the past
and that includes a win and a 2nd place run
this week alone. Tried some of the best 3YO
in the country last year when 2nd to the Ky
Derby runner-up, Firing Line, in the Sunland
Derby. Think we’ll see move up in this spot.
(PICK) 8 JEWELED (5-2)
Baffert has the two main commodities here
so it might make sense to see what the tote
board is doing. Clockers have been very high
on the work this one is doing in the morning.
She apparently has wicked speed. She will
be on the lead from the outside post here.
Looks to love the Del Mar surface. Very fast.
(PICK) 3 SALSITA (7-2)
Was running well in last but steadied at key
moment of the race. Style fits this race nice.

was 2nd a head in the G1 Bev D), you’d have
to think the turf was the plan all along. We
know Cassidy runners improve with racing.
Very sneaky in here, 2 sprints to a long turf.
the Del Mar meet. The winner is on the move
upwards and has a lot of back class. Won at
SA two back at 8-1. Was wide two back in a
race he was flat late. Fits in this 16k group.
HOF trainer and you know he’s not starting
this filly until she is really ready. Also, it’s
worth noting that Pharoah lost his first race
here at DMR. There are bigger plans for her.
(PICK) 8 LAMU (5-1)
Forget the turf experiment in last as he did
not care for it. Ran well w/ these previously.

(PICK) 8 DELTALINA (7-2)
Wesley Ward with 5F turf sprinters is really
tough to beat. He is 4 for 8 in 5F turf sprints
here at Del Mar. This one went wide in her
last start but still kicked on gamely for 3rd.
Beat better than she sees in this race when
she broke her maiden 2 back. Winner three
back is now stakes placed. Working sharply.
(PICK) 8 JAZZY TIMES (5-2)
Obviously talented Baffert colt was a game
2nd to the Hollendorfer trained, Who’s Out in
his last start. That runner came back to run
a good 2nd with a 97 Beyer on Saturday. He
outworked Hoppertunity since his last start.
Don’t think he needs to the lead. Could sit a
bit off pace, a good thing with all the pace.
(PICK) 8 LORD NELSON (2-1)
He looked very live in the Triple Bend and he
ran to the hype. He sat a perfect trip and he
exploded in the late stages. Will get an even
better pace situation with a seriously quick
early pace expected. He’s working well for a
trainer who knows how to keep them going
in right direction. Will be very tough in here.
(PICK) 8 FIRST RESPONDER (9-2)
Was with just a 6% trainer prior to moving
to Ellis yet he was sent off as the 3-1 choice
in the debut. Looks like something went off
in his 2YO season. He’s acted like a serious
racehorse since working in So. Cal. and the
clockers indicate his DMR moves are really
good. Ellis is a decent 14% off long layoffs.
(VALUE) 5 CANDY BOSS (8-1)
Decent turf pedigree for this Sadler trained
filly. She cost 250k last year so there was an
expectation that she would be good. She’ll
get a great pace setup for her late kick. Her
work one week ago was superb. Sadler is in
good form right now. One to use in exotics.
(VALUE) 3 GLACKEN TOO (6-1)
Was 9-5 against the superstar Masochistic
in his last start. He got away a bit flat there
and tried to run with that freak early. It’s no
wonder he tired. Love the win three back in
a field similar to this. Should be able to get
a nice trip in here. Certainly a fit with these.
(VALUE) 7 HOME RUN KITTEN (8-1)
He ran well enough in the Triple Bend but
couldn’t make an impact in the late going of
that race. He’s come into this working much
stronger and could get the right pace setup
for his run. G3 winner, and G1 placed. Note
trainer entered a rabbit to quicken the pace.
(VALUE) 2 DAVIDS MEMORY (12-1)
Got off in a bad spot in the same race as the
top choice comes out of. He made a middle
move but tired in the lane. This is his second
start and he should be better with that race
under his belt. Clockers say he’s looked like
a better runner in his two works after debut.
