Every year the Rotary Club of Bundaberg Sunrise stages the Bundaberg Multicultural
Festival as its signature event.
The festival is an opportunity for the public to celebrate the many cultures that have contributed to Australia’s identity. Each culture and nationality has added its own individual
flavor. The Bundaberg Multicultural Festival makes a difference by allowing citizens
from all cultural backgrounds to embrace each other, to go beyond mere tolerance and to
truly become one. The Rotary Club of Bundaberg Sunrise produces the festival as an opportunity for everyone to
embrace different cultures and nationalities in the knowledge that this is a path to peace and harmony among people .
Australian Animal Facts
The PLATYPUS is one of nature’s strangest animals. The animal is a hodgepodge of other species
— with a duck’s bill and webbed feet, a beaver’s tail, and an otter’s body and fur. The males are
also venomous. They have sharp stingers on the heels of their rear feet that can deliver a strong
toxic blow to any enemy. Platypuses hunt underwater, using their
sensitive bills to locate food. They scoop up insects and larvae, shellfish, and worms in their bill along with bits of gravel from the bottom.
They do not have teeth, so the bits of gravel help them to "chew" their
meal. Platypus reproduction is nearly unique. They are one of only
two mammals that lay eggs. They live along the eastern coast.
