Let’s improve our speech…
Our Maths and English are improving, now let’s
improve our speech! Here is an example of the
correct and incorrect ways of saying a sentence…
How many or how much?
Incorrect: How much children?
Incorrect: How much chairs?
Correct: How many children?
Correct: How many chairs? …Do you say this
correctly?
Word of the week
Can you remember what ‘ichthyophagous’ means? Look
at last week’s newsletter if you can’t. This week’s
word of the week is ‘tatterdemalion’. This is a word
used to describe somebody who is wearing ragged or
tatty clothes. See if you can use it in a sentence!
Mrs Hewitt-Clarkson’s Homework
If you were Father Christmas, which present would
you give every child in the world and why?
Please remember to put your name and class on
your homework!
Maths Fact of the Week
What comes after a million, billion and trillion? A
quadrillion, quintillion, sextillion, septillion, octillion,
nonillion, decillion and undecillion!
