Hugh McCann’s is situated on Newcastle’s new promenade and nestled between the Mourne
Mountains and the Sea. We are rapidly building a reputation as the wedding venue for the discerning
couple seeking something different for their big day. Under an hour from Belfast and 2 hours from Dublin,
with a one wedding per day policy, panoramic views of the Mourne Mountains and of the Irish Sea, it is the
perfect ‘getaway’ destination.
Hugh McCann’s can cater for weddings up to 250 guests, the 200 year old building has been beautifully
renovated, retaining all of its original character and charm. We are licensed to hold ceremonies,
indoors and in the Secret Garden. With two dedicated banqueting suites for couples to choose from.
Wedding packages start at an amazing £995 for 100 guests, £1,990 for 200 guests etc …
The Loft Suite caters for weddings up to 120 guests seated, with ample space for an additional 120
evening guests. Situated on the first floor, it comprises three linked areas – The Loft Bar has a huge
open fire and beautiful original stonework, with spectacular views over Dundrum Bay. The function
room offers floor to ceiling picture windows overlooking the Mourne Mountains, and finally we
also have a south west facing sun terrace - the perfect spot for a champagne reception, as well as a
breathtaking backdrop for your wedding photos!
Loft Suite has received rave reviews from brides and grooms over the past few years, and remains a
firm favourite with small to medium sized parties.
Coast Suite on the ground floor caters for larger parties of up to 240, with plenty of space for
additional evening guests. This self-contained suite has a different atmosphere, with a more
contemporary, stylish feel featuring state of the art mood lighting. (Wedding parties using Coast
Suite may opt also for the Loft suite for welcome drinks)
The Secret Garden is the perfect location for wedding ceremonies or for your after wedding party
with a dedicated cocktail bar and BBQ facilities.
Newcastle has been transformed by recent regeneration, and the new promenade has brought in
many visitors, turning this small town into one of the most sought after resorts in the island of
Ireland.
