Hello Hurricane Families! It’s almost time for us to gather for another funfilled swim season! I hope you all have had a great fall/winter/spring and
are ready to spring into swimming again soon.

REGISTRATION
Registration will be held in the Holly Tree Country Club Ballroom from 1-3 on Sunday,
April 3.
Please encourage your friends and neighbors, regardless of whether or not they live in
Holly Tree, to come join our fun group. We would love to add some new swimmers to our
team!
Registration fee will remain at $75 per swimmer, until April 30, when the price will go to $85.
If you need to join the pool, a Pool/Social membership costs $400.
You will be able to order the team suit, which is the same swerve splice suit as last year,
caps, magnets, and various apparel items at Registration. You will also be able to sign-up
for various volunteer positions during the season.
And speaking of volunteering, we will need some help running Registration. If you can
come early to help set-up or man a table during the afternoon, it would be greatly
appreciated! Please shoot me an email if you would be willing to help out.

DONUTS AND RIBBONS
Our first meet will be on a school night. Therefore, our usual D&R morning will not start
until June 10. Instead, we will have a Popsicles & Ribbons party on Friday during Guppy
practice at 5pm.

VOLUNTEER SECTION
I want to thank Eve Herber who has
volunteered to be our Treasurer again this
year. Also Lisa Cuppett who is our new
Social Director. Thank you so much!!
We are desperately in need of a new Team
Computer Operator. We have a new
system this year which will be easier to
operate and very efficient. Without a TCO
we have no team…please let me know
ASAP if you are interested in this position!
I am also still looking for a back-up Director
and someone to help me out
The future of this team depends on our
Guppies! We need a Guppy Parent to be
the liaison between the Guppy Coaches
and the Guppy parents. Someone to be in
touch with the other Guppy teams and be
the point person at the meets. Someone to
help the coaches plan a few activities and
perhaps organize a party at the end of the
season. It won’t take much time. Thanks!

2016 TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION SESSIONS
As you all know, it takes a lot of parent involvement to run a swim meet! In order to have a
successful team, we rely on every parent to work at least one half of every meet please!
There are many volunteer positions that do not require certification, but we do need several
parents to be certified in all positions. Per the SAIL website:
All Starters must take both Stroke & Turn and Starter classes.
All Referees must take S&T, Starter, and Referee classes.
Classes will start with S&T, followed by Starter, and ending with Referee.
Everyone must take the appropriate online tests.
Everyone must sign in when they attend a class or else they will not be certified.
Clerk of Course with at least two-years of experience do not need to attend a class, but will
still need to take the online test to be certified.
Training classes are all scheduled for April to Train the Trainer, allowing Division-level
training in May. If you would like to be a Division-level trainer, please contact Park Owings
