The Ski Report Here is what we are learning this week: Language Arts I can read sight words. I can use the phonics skills I know to figure out new words. I can read fluently. I can retell a story. I can identify the speaker in a story. I can identify the characters, setting, and events in order. I can tell how books by an author are similar and different. I can tell the main idea. I can find key details. I can write complete sentences. I can use capitals correctly. I can write descriptive paragraphs. I can write persuasive paragraphs. I can use punctuation correctly including commas in a series. Math I can identify and create true and false equations. I can solve doubles equations. I can use doubles facts to solve near doubles equations. I can solve word problems involving doubles and near doubles facts. I can tell the difference between two given amounts. I can tell time to the hour and half hour. I can add and subtract multiples of ten using a Number Grid and Base 10 Blocks. Science I can describe how objects and materials change. I can tell about how objects move. I can make observations. I can tell about my observations. Social Studies I can compare human characteristics and physical characteristics. I can create a community using Legos that includes physical and 2/29/3/4 HW: Read for 20 minutes Please return Just Right Bags every day. Math Packets are coming home Monday to be returned Friday. Poetry folders will come home this Friday. I hope. We didn’t quite get that handled on Duct Tape Day. We are celebrating Dr. Seuss this week with books and activities and special snacks. No regular tests. I will be doing Sight Word Checks for 2A and Reading Level Checks for F and G. March: 2 Dr Seuss Day! We need snacks to restock the snack cupboard. We have a Latin American Birthday story next week so our snacks will be somewhat tied to this them.
