The Art Gallery of Western Australia needs volunteers! The Art Gallery of Western Australia is excited to present the exclusive exhibition Peggy Guggenheim: A Collection in Venice from 9 October 2010 to 31 January 2011 and is looking for volunteers to help make this event an unforgettable experience! What we are looking for: We require fit and healthy volunteers who are happy to commit either a half or full day per week, for the duration of the exhibition, during the Gallery’s opening hours: Wednesday to Monday 10am-5pm. What you will be doing: There are two separate roles: 1. Assisting our Front of House staff with general Reception duties, including answering general questions, cloaking and providing information about our exhibitions and public programs. Helpful, friendly, diplomatic and informative people are required for this task. 2. Meeting and greeting: a role for people with outgoing and friendly personalities who will meet and greet our visitors, answer general questions about the exhibition, direct them to the ticket counter and audio tours and hand out promotional and educational material. We will also be conducting a feedback survey and you may be required to encourage participation and assist the public with this. You’ll need to be friendly and personable, and be able to communicate with a diverse and wide range of people. What are your benefits? You will be making a real difference to our visitors’ experience, while learning about Peggy Guggenheim and her collection and being involved in this exciting event. You will make new friends and be engaging with the public in a meaningful way. You will also have access to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection exhibition, be provided with a stylish Guggenheim exhibition t-shirt, and undergo a brief training session. Please send us an email describing the days / hours / times you can commit to and which role you would prefer, to: Ashlee Brockway [email protected] Peggy Guggenheim installing the Greek Pavillion, where she exhibited her collection, 24th Venice Biennale, with Joan Miró, Dutch Interior II (on the left, 1928, Peggy Guggenheim Collection) Seated Woman II (center, 1939, Peggy Guggenheim Collection) © The Solomon R.
