Real World Math...Designing Birdhouses
We learned the
concepts in math
class, and then we
designed the
birdhouse. We drew
the side and front
elevations
Dear Mr. Tenuto...
1. We wrote letters to our
builder requesting the
wooden parts to build
our birdhouses
2. We sent both letters
and our designs to our
builder
Building the Birdhouses
We finally got our materials back from our
builder. Then we used tools like nails,
hammers, and safety goggles to help us build
the birdhouses.
Painting Time!
We got painting materials to decorate the
birdhouses with our own imagination.
Raising $!
So then we decided that
we would sell our
birdhouses to raise
money for us to go on a
special trip/field trip.
Field Trip Time!
With a Little Help from Some
Friends…
We received generous
donations that allowed us to
invite the entire mentor program
participants to attend a field trip
on a Boston Duck Tour!
