Weekly activities include games, singers, and card games.
Annual events include Canada Day BBQ, inter-club
games, pancake breakfast and bake sale. The drop-in
centre at Pioneer House is open Monday through Friday,
9am – 3pm. Soup and sandwich luncheons 2nd Thursday
monthly at 12 noon (non-members welcome). The club’s
main purpose is recreation, culture and caring for seniors.

Comments:
SUN consists of a dedicated team of individuals operating
as a non-partisan, non-profit society. We inform Seniors
of programs, benefits and available services and how to
access them. The Sherwood Park/Strathcona County
Chapter of SUN meets monthly. Speakers are invited to
our meetings. We also network with other Seniors’ groups
and community organizations about health care, housing
and long term care, transportation, the cost of
medications, the money crunch and other concerns. SUN
advocates on members behalf for information and positive
action through our local politicians. Be a part of SUN and
bring your experience and concerns to the table. Join with
others to advocate for change and improvements as well
as celebrating successes.

Weekly activities include bridge, euchre, pool, snooker,
cards, floor curling and bocci. Monthly general meeting
(2nd Thursday), potluck suppers and birthday
celebrations. Annual Christmas party and Strawberry Tea.
Bus tours and raffle fund raisers held occasionally.
Activities calendar on web site and a printed bi-monthly
calendar available for pick up at the Centre.

Comments:
Strathcona County seniors welcome. Outreach services,
foot care, woodworking shop, craft room, card & pool
rooms, auditorium, library, dining room. Breakfasts
served 8:30 – 10am, lunches served 11:30am – 1pm,
Monday - Friday (plus daily special). Suppers held every
Wednesday plus the last Thursday each month ($9.00
ea.). Drop-in programs: bridge, cribbage, badminton,
bingo, carpet bowling, etc. Registered programs: line
dancing, clogging, zumba, art classes, drama club, choir,
pickle ball, keep fit, widow/widowers club (second Mon.
monthly), and more. Wheelchair accessible. Activity
centre open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm,
Tuesday to Thursday from 8:30am to 8:30pm, Saturdays
from 9am - noon.
Fees:
$30 annual. Minimum age – 55 years (to vote) but
younger people can be associate members.

Comments:
Seniors from Strathcona County are welcome. Programs
include yoga, badminton, fitness programs, choir, crafts,
garden club, quilting, line and round dancing, snooker,
chat and travel clubs and more. There is plenty of free
parking and the facility is wheelchair accessible. Open
Monday and Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm; Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday, 8:30am to 9pm. Evening
programs also offered to 18+ but in the event of a wait
list for a program, seniors will be given first refusal.
Fees:
Membership fee: $30 annually for 55 years and over;
$60 annually OR $30/season for under 55 years.
