Action
Suki Supria and Gurjit Minhas to attend a future
meeting to provide an update on the Tenancy
Management Review
Promote the work of the Tenants’ and Leaseholders’
Forum at Ward Community meetings
Progress
To be arranged when the findings from the review are ready to
be presented.
Helen McGarry to investigate the options available and feedback
to Forum members to agree the approach they would like to
take.

Actions and decisions
a) Wendy Biddles and Joe Carroll to feedback their findings from
their recent visit with cleaners to Suki Supria at the communal
cleaning working group meeting.
b) Arrangements to be made for Forum members to visit the
Customer Service Centre in the New Year.
c) The action plan resulting from the recent Forum rep
questionnaire was handed out at the meeting.

2016 / 17 HRA budget priorities - consultation
A consultation exercise was undertaken to establish Forum
members’ priorities for HRA spend in 2016 / 17, in light of the 1%
rent reduction. Ideas were also put forward for further
investigation to make savings. Feedback from the consultation
exercise to be forwarded to Ann Branson and Councillor Connelly
to consider when developing next years’ budget proposals.

Leicester HomeChoice website
Suzanne Collins attended the meeting to discuss the
improvements being made to the Leicester HomeChoice website,
used by people wanting to apply for council and housing
association accommodation in the city. The changes are due to
take place following the implementation of the Northgate IT
system.
A separate meeting to be arranged for Forum members to see a

demonstration of the website.

Vijay Desor and Mike Watson attended the meeting to advise the
Forum of proposals for all new tenants to be signed up for direct
debits to pay their rent. Credit Union rent payments accounts can
be set up at no charge for those who need them. Other payment
methods will remain available for anyone who cannot obtain or
manage a bank account.
The Tenants’ and Leaseholders’ Forum supported this proposal to
help sustain tenancies, especially with the start of Universal
Credit.
