MAY 2 – SATURDAY – 10 AM - BLUEBELL HIKE - Level 3, 5 miles (RR) - 2370
Everett Road, Peninsula. Hike the Furnace Run section. The first hill is the only really
steep climb. Hope we will see the fields of bluebells in full bloom! Directions: Take Rte
8 N to Steels Corner Rd. Turn left. Follow Steels Corner as it dead ends into Akron
Peninsula Road. Turn right, and go to Ira Road. Turn left onto Ira. Follow Ira to next stop
sign and turn right onto Riverview Road. Follow it until you see Everett Road on left.
Everett Road Covered Bridge is located 1/2 mile west of Riverview Road Continue to

MAY 3 – SUNDAY – 2 PM – ME AND MY DOG HIKE AT
BOETTLER/SOUTHGATE PARK IN GREEN-Level 2, 5 miles (RR) Meet at the
parking lot just after the basketball court. Directions: Take I77 to the Portage Rd. exit.
Go west on Portage to Wales Rd ( 241) Turn right on Wales and go north to Green to
Boettler Park on the left. There is an orthodox church on your right. Turn left into the
park. Take the first road on your left just before you reach the basketball court to the
parking area.

MAY 5 – TUESDAY-10 AM - JACKSON PARK- Level 2, 5 miles (RR) Meet at the
parking lot at Jackson Park Track by the gazebo and pond. Directions: Reach it from
Fulton or Wales Rd. (241). Parking lot is ½ mile west of Wales Rd. on the right.

Meet at the parking lot at Jackson Park Track by the gazebo and pond. Directions: Reach
it from Fulton or Wales Rd. (241). Parking lot is ½ mile west of Wales Rd. on the right.

MAY 9 – SATURDAY- 10 AM - SALT FORK – Level 3, 5 miles (RR) ( Leave early
as it is further away. Jim can get there in an hour. You may want to allow more time
since you don’t know exactly where you are going.) This is a special hike and cookout.
Jim and Lisa are providing hamburgers and hotdogs along with buns and condiments as
well as drinks. Please bring your choice of covered dish, chips, or desserts. You may
bring a 2-legged or 4-legged friend. Meet at Jim Tedrick’s barn at 13022 Freedom Rd.
Kimbolton 43749. Directions: Take 77 South to exit 54 Kimbolton/Plainfield. Go left
over 77 and up the hill to the stop sign. Turn left and go North one mile on Old Rt. 21,
then turn left on Freedom Rd. Follow Freedom across the lake and up and over the next
hill. On the way down, look for a driveway, on the left, that looks like a runaway truck
ramp.

(RR) -16146 Daniel St NE Minerva, OH 44657. Enjoy a Mother’s Day hike! Meet at the
Huston Woods parking lot on Daniel St. south of Alliance. Directions: Take Rt. 62 east
to Alliance. Exit onto Rt. 173 (State Street) Turn right (east) on Rt. 173 and go
approximately 3 miles to Rte 183 (S.Union Street) Turn right (south) on Rte 183, go
approximately 5 miles to Daniel Street. Turn left on Daniel and go the to parking lot on

Stand at 1166 South Main St. in North Canton – a few blocks south of the square on the
east side of the street.

MAY 16 – SATURDAY- 10 AM - SIEBERLING NATURE REALM – Level 2.5/3,
5 miles (RR) Meet at the main parking lot off Smith Rd. (1828 Smith Rd, Akron, OH
44313). Directions: Take I 77 N to Route 18. Take Rte 18 East towards Fairlawn. Make
a left onto Smith Road. Nature Realm will be on the right. Leader: Deb Withnell
MAY 17 – SUNDAY – 2 PM - SIPPO LAKE EXPLORATION GATEWAY-Level 2,
5 miles (RR at library). Meet at the first parking lot on the right as you arrive. Hike on
the trails around the lake including down to the Marina and over towards Sanders Center.
Directions: Get to the intersection of 12th St.NW and Perry Dr. NW. Go west on 12th
St. to entrance to Exploration Gateway at Sippo Lake Park on the left.

MAY 20 – WEDNESDAY– 10 AM -SAND RUN– Level 3/4, 5 miles( RR) Meet at
Sand Run’s Wadsworth Parking Lot. Directions: Take I77/8 to Tallmadge Rd., turn west
(left), it becomes Memorial, go to Portage Path and turn right (north). At the bottom of a
long hill, you will see the entrance to the park on the left side. The third parking lot is
the Wadsworth Parking lot

the parking lot at the entrance for Camp Tuscazoar. Directions: Take I77 south to
Bolivar/Zoar exit. Take Rt. 212 left (east) through Zoar to Rt. 800, turn left (north), go a
short distance, turn right (east), go over a bridge, turn right onto Boy Scout Rd. and go to
camp entrance on the right.

303. Turn west (left). Continue to the parking lot on the right about one mile from Rt. 8.

(RR) Meet at Community Park in Canal Fulton. Directions: Take I 77 to Portage Street.
Turn west to Canal Fulton and Rte. 93. Turn left on 93 and turn left into the park.

MAY 30 – SATURDAY- 10 AM - BUCKEYE TRAIL AND TOWPATH Level 3-4,
8 mi ( RR) We will hike 6.5 miles on the Buckeye Trail( short side trip to see Blue Hen
Falls), then continue 1.5 miles on the towpath to make a round trip. The Buckeye trail
includes hills and stream crossings. We will meet at the General Store parking lot in
Boston.( 1550 Boston Mills Road, Penisula) Directions: Take Rt. 77/8 north to Rt. 303
into Peninsula. Turn right onto Riverview Rd. Then right on Boston Mills Rd., before the
ski area on the left. Go across the bridge and then right into the parking lot

MAY 31 – SUNDAY – 2 PM - IRON HORSE TRAIL IN ALLIANCE - Level 1, 5 mi
( No RR)
1141 W. Beech St. in Alliance This is a new trail and part of the Stark
Parks System.
Directions: Take US 62 east towards Alliance.
Turn right on Beech Street (first right after Parks Avenue light) Go east on Beech
approximately 4.2 miles (past stops at Easton and Beechwood) to First Christian Church
on left. Trail head and parking are adjacent to the church.
The trail is under construction, but right of way has been cleared and it is walkable to
beyond Bayton Street (approximately 3 miles)
