JOB OPENINGS

The Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science, University of Iowa invites applications for one or more non-tenure- track faculty positions on a
one-year appointment to teach statistics during the 2017-18 academic year, subject to budgetary approval. Applications are welcome for part-time
(up to 87% time) employment, and are potentially renewable. Applicants should possess a PhD in statistics or a related area, in hand by the start date
of the appointment. Excellent communications skills are essential. Common research interests with current faculty and experience teaching statistics
courses are desired. Fall appointments begin August 16, 2017, and candidates must be legally able to work in the United States on that date. Review
of applications will begin immediately and continue until all positions have been filled.

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) invites applications for full-time faculty positions at
any rank, in the In Residence faculty series, with an expected start date of July, 2017.
o The UCSF Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics provides a supportive academic environment for original methodological research
and ample opportunities for collaboration, including with the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, as well as teaching and
mentoring as part of our Master’s Degrees in Clinical Research and Global Health and the Epidemiology and Translational Science and Global
Health Sciences PhD programs.
o Duties: The successful candidate is expected to conduct collaborative research with biomedical scientists, maintain their own research
program, and carry a light teaching load (typically 1 to 2 quarter-length courses per year or the equivalent). We will consider any area of
research compatible with current departmental programs. This is an opportunity to join an energetic, involved Biostatistics program at one of
the nation’s top medical research institutions.
o Qualifications: PhD in Biostatistics or a closely related field. Preference given to candidates with experience in collaboration and consulting in
a biomedical environment and excellent teaching and communication skills.
