EGGS CAMP 2015 Volunteer Internship
JOB DESCRIPTION
BRIEF OVERVIEW
The EGGS intern program has been blessed to attract spirited, talented, and compassionate
young people to serve on the intern team during the EGGS’ Summer Camp. This intern program
is designed to provide young people with the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and skills
for the workplace. Additionally, the intern program provides an opportunity to lead and learn
with the children participating. Some of the learning outcomes of serving as an intern include:






Valuable program planning skills
Advanced oral communication skills
Knowledge of designing, executing and evaluating programs
Knowledge of campus ministry
Knowledge of servant leadership
Knowledge of being a member of a Christian learning community
Intern Program Details
Desired Traits:
All interns must believe in Jesus Christ. All interns must possess the following characteristics:






Must be a rising 10th grader for the upcoming school year
A love and passion for helping children
Desire to be in ministry with children
An enthusiastic Christ-like attitude
Ability to lead and supervise, when necessary
Demonstrate responsibility and dependability

Time Frame:
All interns must complete and meet all application deadlines, March 15th – April 19th. Interns
must participate in orientation, meetings, and trainings. If selected, a complete schedule of
important dates and times will be provided. The intern position is designed for six weeks
throughout the summer, July 6th – August 14th.
Compensation:
Scholarship forms are set aside for each student and are awarded during their senior year. The
amount of the scholarship is based upon the following:





The number of years the applicant spends as an EGGS volunteer.
Evaluation of attitude, behavior and leadership.
Attendance record.
Positive feedback from camp participants.
Quality of work.
If it becomes necessary for an EGGS’ supervisor to suspend an applicant, she/he will not be
eligible for a scholarship for that year. (All applicants must complete a scholarship verification
form for full consideration).
Dress Code:
Interns must be appropriately dressed. Shorts are welcome but they must come to the top of the
knee. Appropriate tops include t-shirts, blouses, and shirts that cover the upper body. Interns are
not permitted to sag their pants. Closed toed-shoes are mandatory.
Language:
Profanity and urban slang will not be permitted at any time. As an intern, you are committed to
providing and supporting a spiritually healthy environment and experience for participants.
Failure to comply will result in immediate removal from the position.

Do’s and Don’ts





Interns are responsible for the well-being of EGGS’ campers during the times camp is in
session. This includes all classes, recreational activities and field trips.
Interns should not bring any electronic devices to camp. This includes ipods, mp3, etc…
Interns may not use cell phones on campus. Cell phones will be confiscated by any
authorized EGGS representative, such as Camp Director, teacher, Administrative
Assistant, if they are used.
Permission from the Camp Director or the Managing Director must be given in order for
an intern to use any computer.
Interns may not bring food on campus unless prior permission is granted.
