We are recruiting a Project Lead to support our Programme Management Job Summary At DNAe (www.dnae.com) we are integrating cutting-edge semiconductor technologies with novel biochemical techniques to develop products for DNA analysis and molecular diagnostics. We are growing fast and need to recruit a Project Lead. The key responsibility will be to support Programme Management and the Science team (Head of Department, Principle/Senior Scientists) in developing the company’s revolutionary sequencing and genotyping products for point of care diagnostic applications. This comprises a multidisciplinary mixture of electrical engineering, molecular biology, chemistry, mechanical engineering, software, bioinformatics and product design, as well as a small business development and product management team who provide customer/ Key Opinion Leader input on requirements, concepts and specifications. Key Responsibilities of the role: • Support product development activity to successful delivery with projects completed to agreed timescales and costs thereby sustaining high performance to meet the current and future needs of the business. • Manage interconnected Science Team related projects which require the use of standard project planning and monitoring techniques. • Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage daily large and significant projects, or a number of small projects with numerous complex interdependent features. Communicate clear priorities and expectations. • With Science Team functional experts, create plans and budgets and manage within them. Ensure resource plan (people, financial, tools etc) is appropriate to ensure achievement of the medium term business objectives. • Constantly monitor and review the Science Team's resource allocation and actual/forecast delivery to ensure we meet targets / short term priority tasks; Input into Programme Management weekly assessments against budget, financial and operational goals. • Provide input support into long-term programme planning. • Ensure lessons are learned and transferable benefits implemented in a timely fashion. • Highlight key issues and opportunities in the delivery of the Science Team projects. Qualifications and experience Required: • PhD, MSc or BSc (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical or technical/life sciences equivalent) with at least 3 years technical project planning/management experience in the development of Medical Devices, IVD or similar regulated products. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Builds effective relationships across organisational boundaries. Fosters collaboration. • Highly motivated and delivery driven. Desirable: • Experience of molecular diagnostics, IVD assay development (NGS or PCR) IVD device development or NGS system development • You will ideally have experience in the early stages of the product development cycle (e.g., up to CE mark for products which incorporate new technologies towards medical, scientific, or point of care markets). • Understanding of the requirements of quality systems and regulatory requirements relevant to medical devices e.g. ISO13485, FDA 510(k), CE IVD. • Ideally, recognised project/programme management qualifications such as PRINCE2, MSP.
